Typical student town, with many young people in evidence.
Typical student town, with many young people in evidence. Safe, friendly feel to the town, even in the evening at the weekend. Lots of variety in the restaurants and cafés, good shopping with some very good independent shops, as well as the usual chains.

To be honest I wouldn't go to Loughborough on holiday but its a nice town. If you like a drink check out Moonface brewery. The market in the town is on twice a week and is nice.

Totally recommend the Great Central Railway.
Totally recommend the Great Central Railway. Loughborough seems an interesting town with some nice architectural detail on some of the older terraced housing and a choice of two Wetherspoons for the evening

Very friendly people, nice parks nearby, Charnwood waters a lovely place to visit, steam railway located here for steam enthusiasts, small shopping centre, very busy police presence at night which was concerning!! we did also notice that the area could do with a mass cleanup of rubbish both in the parks and town centre which was a shame as it let the area down!!
Very comfortable room with three single beds in a lovely house. This room was booked for our two daughters and friend. The youngest was graduating from Loughborough university and unfortunately, due to Covid circumstances, we couldn't travel to attend the ceremony. However, we arranged for flowers to be delivered to the room and Derek, very kindly, helped us in making her day very special. He was extremely responsive and ever so helpful. And the girls absolutely loved the breakfast!!! Perfect location too.
I was dropping my son to start his first year at University and we flew over from Ireland. A delayed flight meant we didn't get to the hotel until after midnight but staff replied to queries posted on Booking.com and the receptionist was expecting us. Great location on campus. Clean, spacious, comfortable rooms with enough plugs to satisfy any teenager and sufficient heating and ventilation.
Short walk from Loughborough University. The area is really walkable and not far from restaurants and bars. The unit itself is really well decorated. I loved the decor and how unique it was. Bed was comfortable and the space was extremely cute. The shared kitchen has everything you need. The area is quiet as well. Staff was wonderful with communication, would recommend to all.
Our room was fine in the end but it was the third room we were shown. The first one had a toilet that didn't flush. The wardrobe doors were also hanging off the wardrobe. We were then given another room but the toilet in this room didn't flush either. The third room was fine. Much larger but still rather tired looking. The whole hotel could do with a refurb.
We booked 2 rooms to attend our daughter’s graduation ceremony. We have stayed at the hotel before and we’re looking forward to dinning at the hotel. However, we were not able to dine in the restaurant as it was closed without any prior notification. However, the bar staff that came round to take our drinks orders were so very helpful and pleasant
Friendly staff, quick to show to room.
You have to go out of pub and it was a separate room direct onto street. Location to City Centre and Great Central Railway (purpose of visit to Loughborough) is great (Town 10-15 mins, GCR <5 mins)
Room very clean, tidy, comfy bed (except for thin duvet, see below) and there was tea and coffee.
The staff were all lovely. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and the food was really good. The bar area and restaurant had been renovated and looked nice. You didn't mind spending time there.
The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean.
Big car park, lovely garden.
20 minute walk to Loughborough town centre.
Characterful building, with parking on site (albeit tight), attached to Italian restaurant where we had a good evening meal. Close to the town centre and with a good view of the church. Breakfast was excellent, delicious fresh fruit, well-cooked full English and veggie breakfast. Catered well for my dairy intolerance.
The location was very nice in a beautiful village location and only 10 mins from Loughborough university where we needed to go. The gardens were lovely and very large . The mattress on the bed was one of the most comfortable that we have had in a hotel . The staff were very helpful especially the receptionist.
Good location a short walk from Loughborough town centre. Bus stop to Leicester close by. Friendly helpful staff. There is spa and hot tub facilities but I didn’t have time to use these but would love to next visit. Tea anc coffee facilities in room and TV with free view .
A charming place filled with artifacts, antiques, nice hosts, very nice full English breakfast. Great location in Loughborough, we were there to visit our student child, so it was good to be able to walk to the town Centre, to Uni etc. Parking in the grounds helped.
Very spacious, clean rooms with a sizable table for work. Eduroam WiFi from Loughborough University was available for late-night reading of scientific papers. Rooms were quiet and had a nice selection of teas/coffee/hot cocoa.
Perfect location for my son's interview at the university. Quiet location, although the restaurant was not open the incredibly helpful and patient manager guided us to a restaurant where we had an excellent dinner.
The location and grounds were amazing. The hotel itself is beautiful. The real draw and why I would absolutely come again is because of the staff. Attentive, kind, friendly and all-around wonderful.
Location was great - Right in the town centre and not too far from Loughborough University.
My room was very disappointing. Torn Curtains, some tired furnitures etc
Bed uncomfortable.
Room small but modern and clean. Leisure facilities great. Staff very nice. Breakfast great and accommodated our son who was not staying. Location brilliant for the University and town.
I like the hotel a lot. It is well located, and my previous stays I had had different staff who had looked after me as well as I could ever have hoped. I reviewed these.
