    Came for the Northumbrian Gathering.

Came for the Northumbrian Gathering. It's a great event if you like folk music and dancing. Lots of local culture. Talented artists. And the town itself is very attractive. It is small enough to park and walk to all places of interest.

The Joiners Arms for beer and Martino Lounge for food worth a visit as are the Carlisle Park where Emily Davidsons statue is situated. But quite a mix of places to visit. Leisure Centre would be good for families. Easy to walk around and found free parking within 5 minutes of hotel.

Secret Cottage, Morpeth (Host: Alex) Morpeth was fine but...

Secret Cottage, Morpeth (Host: Alex) Morpeth was fine but accommodation and host not so good. Reported a major fault (no lighting in the main bathroom) this was not repaired during stay and to add insult to injury the host lied about everything in response to my review of Booking.com. Please don't trust this host or give him any of your hard-earned cash as he doesn't deserve the business. He was totally unsympathetic and had a terrible attitude. He said "go ahead and report to Booking.com because at the end of the day it is up to the host if a refund is given". AVOID THIS HOST!

Morpeth is a lovely little town.

Morpeth is a lovely little town. Highlights for me were the bagpipe museum - really is great - the park and all the little shops, especially the cheese shop by the clock tower. I went in windy January on a bicycle, which was not ideal, but I still really enjoyed myself.

We were only there for one night for a family birthday so did not get the opportunity to visit all the shops in the town centre. We did go to a fantastic Italian Restaurant Lollo Rosso which served amazing food and such attentive and friendly staff.

Lovely traditional market town giving easy access to wonderful Northumberland countryside, hills, moors, coast, castles, as well as Newcastle city centre for shopping, culture, nightlife, etc. Morpeth has several cosy coffee shops for delicious home baked scones and cakes, lunches, etc, as well as a variety of bars and restaurants and a unique traditional craft centre.

Location is great for central Morpeth - it is on one of the oldest streets in the town. Very quiet area and within 2 mins walk of restaurants and bars - 5 mins walk from various river walks The interior is amazing - very realistic as per the images supplied on the website - the deluxe suite (which we booked) is worthy of living in and the bathroom is immense! The owners are great people and make you feel really welcome. I took various Italians with me and they now want an English breakfast cooked by Carmen every day !!!!!

The pub itself was wonderful staff were helpful and friendly and so we're the Patrons. The room itself was amazing for the value it was amazingly cleanly, the facilities presented are far better then those of a lot of hotels I've stayed in including big branded hotels. Despite only staying for one evening to break up a long drive it has left a amazing impression on my and if I am ever in the area again I'll be sure to book again.

Gorgeous little basement apartment, a sweet outdoor sitting area, a convenient walk to stores and historic venues. Our hosts made a lovely "breakfast box" to help us get through the first morning before we could go grocery shopping, which delighted my son to no end. And the shower was awesome! The book of local information was full of great stuff to help anyone find things to do, and the bed!!! Oh, that bed was SO comfy!

A combined work and leisure visit to Morpeth with 3 generations sharing the property - met all of our needs. The on-street parking was occasionally busy so had to park some distance away, but as the driver I have full mobility so just dropped the less mobile at the house and then parked up.

Great and comfy "glamping pod" in a secluded location, surrounded only by grass and a few goats. The hosts are very nice and super accommodating. The pod itself includes all the equipment you need to cook a nice dinner, and it's surprisingly spacious as well. Would stay again!

The location was fantastic , very quiet with nice views , the lodge was very cosy and the hot tub was great. It had everything you need for a self catering holiday and the bottle of prosecco on arrival was a nice touch , the wi-fi was very good and we had a really nice stay.

Absolutely beautiful lodge, we have stayed around this area before as it isn’t far from home but once you’re there it feels like a million miles away. Stunning caravan and will be using Lone Star Lodge again very soon. (Thank you for the free wine and crisps!)

The restaurant staff were delightful as was the food, very nice relaxed feeling to the dining area and drinks lounge. The breakfast staff were also lovely, and same goes for our goodbye from a nice lady who i believe was the general manager (dark hair).

Very little to say what we liked about our stay, but if i had to choose anything it would be the location of the hotel and the bed was ok. Clean towels. Apart from that i cant say anything else we liked. Would not recommend.
