Breakfast is GREAT! Staff are very attentive.
Though we were upgraded to a sea view room (we are returning guests) the room was VERY small and door of bathroom didn't close properly. Upon checkout the staff member said "yes we know"...

Situated on the west part of Crete, the city of Chania is the second largest in this beautiful Greek island. Featuring rich history, breathtaking architecture and pristine beaches, Chania will take you to a fascinating journey through time.
Get your camera and wander around the narrow alleys of the old town or walk on the romantic promenade area of the old harbour with the iconic lighthouse. Set on a small hill, the central part of the town is called Kastelli and is populated since the Neolithic period.

Stunning place, wonderful people and delicious food.
Stunning place, wonderful people and delicious food. Nea Chora beach is fantastic and there are many restaurants and cafés to choose from. I love to go before and after the high season. Easy to rent a car and drive around, the driving experience was fantastic, good roads and signals. People drive sensibly and there is free parking all over the island with no tolls at all.

The old town is lovely full of independent stores selling leather goods, clothes etc. Eat at one of the restaurants overlooking the port and lighthouse for fantastic views. Loved the backdrop of the snow covered mountains while basking in the 26 degrees sun despite it still being March.

We loved the Venetian port and the Old Town.
We loved the Venetian port and the Old Town. One of our favourite places was a restaurant called Paradisiaco in the upper part of the port on Theotokopoulou Street. It is a very interesting neighbourhood. A beautiful art shop with a friendly owner is in the same area. Another good restaurant is Maridaki in Maridaki Steet.

Its a quiet, mountainside/seaside town with amazing food.
Its a quiet, mountainside/seaside town with amazing food. I dont think I had one bad meal there. The beaches are amazing and the water is a crystal clear green/blue. I'm sure there are lots of activities and things to do involving hiking and snorkeling. If you're looking for lots of shopping from big retail, I dont think this is the place for you. A lot of the shops are local businesses.

A very good place as a base for the western part of the island. When visiting the eastern or central part, it is better to move around. However, the western part is famous for its greatest attractions.

This was our third stay in Chania as we love it so much.
This was our third stay in Chania as we love it so much. It is clean and well-kept, with a pretty harbour and large selection of bars and restaurants. We always visit in April or October when it’s buzzing but not too overcrowded.
The prices are very reasonable, especially in the Kuom Kapi area.
We discovered Amphora taverna in the Venetian harbour this visit, and although you pay harbour front (slightly higher) prices, the portions were huge and excellent value for money, and the service was excellent.
Our stay at CasaDelPorto in Chania was one of the unexpected high points of our 2 week trip to Greece. It is a boutique hotel with an amazing harbor view location spacious balconies and gracious hosts. Recently renovated, our room at the front had a modern clean feel and a thoughtful tasteful design with clear attention to detail. The bed was comfortable and the small but efficient kitchen was well appointed. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone who would enjoy being in the heart of this charming town.
-Very clean and lovely hotel, it looks brand new
-Staff are so friendly and polite
-Rooms are nice, clean and comfortable (beds and pillows), no noise could be heard at the back of the hotel which was perfect
-Location is spot on, this is the best thing about the hotel. You are literally on the door step of Old Town, the Venetian Harbour, restaurants, shops and the bus station. The journey from the bus station to the airport was about 30mins and it stopped right outside the departures entrance.
We had a wonderful stay at the Konmari Boutique Suites. It was conveniently located in old town Chania in a quiet part and was minutes away from the harbor - the highlight being the jacuzzi in the basement. The hostess was very warm and helped us settle in and explain all the amenities and tips for good Restaurants in the area. The taxi service to and from the airport was also very well organized including a day trip to Elafonisi beach. Really recommended for a family stay !
The location is amazing, is literally in the old town, where everything happens. 5 minutes walk to the bus station so it’s easy to move in the island.
The room was very clean and very cute, and everybody was taking photos of the building; it was adapted to the culture and architecture of the town.
The staff was very very nice, explained us different activities to do, how to move around Crete, provided us with a map, and solved all our doubts.
Definitely would recommend it.
Perfect location in centre of old town but just off the busier streets. Loved the quirky decor and the jacuzzi style bathtub in the room (that was the deciding factor for my booking after a week hiking across Crete!). Complimentary raki, more than I could get through on my own 😅. Tea and coffee and some sweets in the room and a magnificent large breakfast, and still one of the cheapest available rooms! I'll definitely be recommending this place (I already have 😁)
This was my favorite hotel that we stayed at in Crete. it is a small hotel, which makes it feel even more special. There is a cafe/bar on the main floor. Our room had a balcony overlooking the bustling city and harbor with enough room to sit outside. We also had access to go up to the roof deck. The staff and owner were all lovely. The breakfast was delicious and even had some vegan! We got a discount at the bar as well and the drinks were excellent.
The location of the apartment in old town is really convenient. Everything was in walking distance and we loved how quiet it was in the mornings. Its a nice touch to have the table outside the front door so you can sit with a drink and do some people watching :) MUST visit the Maritime Museum of Crete which is 2min away. I have never seen so many ship models in one place, exciting find. Restaurant tip: TAMAM - we ate there 3 times - very nice food.
We loved everything about this small hotel. The location in old town was great for walking along the harbor and visiting shops. A taxi was able to drop us very close. The hostess, Thomais, had great suggest for restaurants. She helped line up a tour of Samaria Gorge. And she prepared a huge breakfast of bread, cheese, yogurt, honey and fresh-squeezed orange juice. We would highly recommend it.
The apartment was beautiful, just in front the sea with an incredible view. The are is so nice, full of restaurants and 10 min walk from beautiful chania old town.
Aria is super nice, always helpful. You will always find her in the shop underneath and she is great.
Crete is incredible, chania is so beautiful, and this is the perfect place to be.
We will comeback to chania and archin for sure
It was a dream! The hosts were helpful and so sweet. I was picked up from the bus station and given great advice. The boutique hotel is gorgeous! The best honestly felt like I was in a fairy tale. I would go back in a heartbeat! The location is fantastic, you’re in the heart of the old town. I will be back for sure☺️. Thank you to the hotel owners who were so sweet and attentive.
The location was perfect! It is in the middle of everything. If you are planning to stay just for few days all the places like the port, new town, old town etc are a very short walkable distance for the hotel. The rooms are big and very clean with balcons viewing the city center. The breakfast is very simple and tasty with the best fresh orange juice i have ever tasted.
Our host was so wonderful! They were there for all of our questions 24/7. They booked us a tour, recommended best places to visit. They even borrowed us a parasoil :) Room was modern, new, extremely clean and well equipped. Bed was perfectly comfortable. Our stay in this hotel is one of the best experiencies in Crete, great example of Greek hospitality, I recommend it!
We booked 5 nights at the start of our holiday in Crete. Chania is a gem and we had a great time. Small hotel in side street leading to seafront about 50 metres away. Excellent, central location in old town. Large, clean and comfortable room with kitchenette, air con and small balcony with sea view. Excellent breakfast included at taverna right next door.
New hotel, big spacious room, clean and tidy. Comfortable bed and pillows. Quiet area. Service is outstanding. Georgia gives 5 star personal service attending to your every need. Breakfast was delicious. Homemade traditional Greek food. Private parking for hotel guests. Walking distance to the beach, old town and the port. I highly recommend it.
New hotel, nice location just a few hundred metres from promenade with many restaurants and bars leading to old town. The best room is 602, having two balconies, a jacuzzi bath and great sea views. All hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The whole hotel is equipped to a very high standard, feels closer to 5 stars than 4.
Everything about Alcanea Boutique Resort. We had a lovely one night stay and wished we could have stayed longer.
Check in by reception was easy and we were given a lot of helpful information to make our stay in Chania enjoyable. We recommend this hotel and will stay there again if we return to Crete.
This hotel was fantastic! The staff were incredible, making you feel like family, recommending restaurants and things to do, and helping with everything you need. The room was really comfortable and with a great view, and great location in Old Town. I was sad to leave!
The location is in the heart of Chania old town. The rooms are clean and spacious. It is an extremely good value. But the best art is Pia herself. She went out of her way to make us feel at home and help us with our questions and needs. I highly recommend this hotel.
The property is a family owned boutique hotel. Beautifully maintained in the old town of Chania, Crete.
The Manager, Visalis was more than helpful with advise on what to do in the area.
I would highly recommend this hotel, Carol Power
Excellent staff! You will be in good hands. Great breakfast and coffee. The location is a walking distance from the old town.
We stayed here as it was easy to explore Chania and top beaches on the Crete (1-2 hrs away)
