I made a huge mistake on the last review. I did not stay at the cottages. They were overbooked by Expedia. I truly apologize to Roy! He called me asap to confirm that the cottage was already booked.
My review was for “Room in home by Betty.”
Buyer beware!!!! Total scam

To be honest it was a business trip made short with airport delays, missing connection flights and lost luggage. I arrived well after 8pm to be fair to the hotel. I missed the business dinner with half dozen of my colleagues and totally scrambled eggs event. My luggage arrived 6 hours prior my flight departure back home.

My husband and I live an hour away so we go to Sarasota often for quick get-a-ways. We love the city and all the delicious restaurants and interesting places. We go shopping in St.Armands Circle and/or the UTC mall, visit the Mote Aquarium and botanical gardens.

Sarasota has a lot to offer.
Sarasota has a lot to offer. We were on the beach and visiting friends so didn't go into the city except to get to St. Armand's Circle from where we were staying. I'm a native from this area so i know the city well.

Even though we're close to the beach prices are ridiculous for everything. You just have to find the right deals. I have not wondered about Sarasota much in the 6 months being here but I love it. And working on Siesta Key there is a trolley that is free and two or three other transportation businesses that are free that work off tips. So if you're on a budget this really helps out.

Beautiful city that offers a lot of activities.
Beautiful city that offers a lot of activities. We visited Bean Point beach in Anna Maria Island and we loved it! Gorgeous beach! Highly recommended.
We ate at Cha Cha Coconuts, in St. Armand Circle. The server was very friendly and professional and the seafood was delicious.
We stayed at the Kompose Hotel for two nights; a very modern, pretty and clean hotel nearby the airport.
The staff was amazing friendly and helpful all weekend. We loved the retro remodel that has recently been done to the rooms. The mid century modern decor to the rooms is fresh and new but still fits the nostalgia of the original hotel. We stayed in a king suite with pool view the room was very spacious, the bed was comfortable and we loved having the fridge in the room. The location was close to the downtown area and not a far drive to the beach. We spent an afternoon by the pool loved the patio furniture and the sun beds. We will be back
This is a new build which was very clean and extremely well run hotel. Its in a fantastic location and is under 10 mins from downtown and University Town Centre.
The breakfast offers more than a basic one with fresh fruit waffle machine and range of bagels/breads.
The pool is shared with its sister hotel but 30 seconds walk. It jas washing drying and we used the bbq one evening
The staff made the hotel the best we had stayed in. All are fantastically helpful. We were there over Xmas and they had researched and printed what was open etc
Property was awesome. Definitely very “resort” like which is what we were looking for. Pet friendly. Excellent location. Amazing staff. We had a king balcony with a view of the pool and the water and it felt truly luxurious. Will definitely stay here again next time we’re in Sarasota. Oh, and free bike and kayak rentals included in the resort fee. $10 self parking. Amazing park for the kids across the street and a little area to sit in the sand in Adirondack’s and look at the sunset. Overall, an excellent experience.
Loved the location, the staff were very professional and friendly, explained we had a complementary drink and gave us the breakfast cards for our stay. The room size was WOW, totally loved how it looks like an apartment, very convenient, there were 2 TV's one in the room and one in the living area, there was also a blanket if you wanted to watch TV in the couch! Perfect! This hotel was super cozy, I would definitely recommend this place and next time in Sarasota, I will digitately stay there again!
The hotel facilities are nwe and clean, the breakfast is good with a fair variety, there are restaurants available at a walking distance and the area seemed safe. They have bingo nights on Saturdays by the hotel pool (which is really good to relax after a day at the beach) and the staff was great! They also offer beach chairs and umbrellas that other guests have left behind which was a nice surprise. The shower was exceptional and parking is free!
Wonderful experience! The hotel was super clean and room and bed was super comfortable. I love the breakfast every morning. It’s awesome breakfast with wide variety of selections of food and desserts. The coffee was also very good . The lady whoes working at the kitchen and breakfast area was super friendly . Everyone was super nice and friendly and hard working people. Keep up the great job ! Thank you so much and We had wonderful stay 😊
absolutely nothing the entire room was full of mold and cock roaches inside, outside was drug users and hookers cops were called there several times … told management my family have been sick the whole stay he offered me a different room that had mold in several areas. we asked for a refund and did not receive it we left for a better non moldy hotel. we were told that we got the last room available at the time we got there
This is the second time we came to this hotel in 3 months. It's clean, reasonably priced. The staff is friendly, they have all the covid 19 safety measures in place but what we like the most is it is centrally located if you don't know what you want to visit. It's by a huge mall with plenty of restaurants. It's 15 minutes to Siesta Key, Palmetto, Bradenton, and Sarasota so it gives you a lot of options to explore.
The style and atmosphere were updated, fun, and classy. The rooms were very clean. Loved the fact that it's a completely smoke-free hotel and very pet friendly. The pool area was perfect with table seating and a rather large pool. Breakfast was perfect. The cereal display dispensers were very neat! We highly recommend this boutique style hotel. Even our kids loved everything about their stay.
I didn't expect the rooms to be so comfortable clean and like your own small apartment. The room we stood in had a king size bed and sofa bed in the living area. Kitchen was updated with a stove top microwave and average fridge (no mini). Bedroom was so comfy. To top it off the hotel is only 7 minutes away from Siesta Key beach and many local restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.
A very welcoming hotel. Mostly impressed with how spacious the public areas felt, with wide corridors with sofas, benches and pictures on the walls, making them feel more like living rooms than corridors. The rooms themselves have a similar feeling, making them "homely" in a way I never experienced outside small hotels. Welcoming staff, and decent breakfast.
Hotel located overlooking Sarasota beach we stayed in a beach front room.
Car park available at rear of property.
Hotel is a short walk to St Armands with its restaurants and shops.
Breakfast on the 7th floor was excellent in particular the cooked to order options.
The hotel is modern and industrial in style. Breakfast buffet is good value but no healthy options. Great location if you just need somewhere to stay for a night before flying from Sarasota airport. Plenty of free parking. Jacuzzi is nice.
Breakfast was great. Loved the pool area and the tiki bar . And of course the beach. We loved the fact that it was not a very busy area/surroundings. It was more peaceful/pleasant. Hope the new hotel will provide the same.
The lobby was very nice with more than adequate seating areas. This was the first time in a long time, that we have stayed in a hotel and were not disturbed by banging doors, loud guests or noisy kids.
I stayed at hotels and motels across Florida for 4 weeks and this was the only one that provided daily housekeeping. The manager and staff were very friendly and the room was clean and a decent size.
Not recommended, it's a scam,a Hotel of $50 in Europe is much better. I expected something dissent since I payed $376,48. The silence of nature of Sarasota in very peaceful and beautiful beach sand.
Breakfast had a good variety and was delicious. There was ample seating in the breakfast area and the accessibility to Sarasota and the beach was great!
