We had a comfortable weekend stay at the Hampton Inn in Childress, TX. Our event was my High School Reunion, located in Wellington, TX. Only a short 30 minutes away.
The front desk manager, Elva was exceptionally helpful with making sure that our small requests /room type were implemented.
Our King Suite room was super comfortable, the pillows were just right. The long desk/table in our suite was awkward & wasn’t needed.
The Hampton Inn location was perfectly located off of 287 /Hwy 83, Walmart was next door and Starbucks was a couple of traffic lights away.
Hampton Inn & Childress, TX thanks for your hospitality.

I was passing through on my way to Spring.
I was passing through on my way to Spring. Childress had a lot of hotels to choose from. There were a lot of gas stations that had coffee and beverage options, as well as restaurants. There is a Walmart near the hotels. While I didn't stay long in Childress, I had a pleasant time there. I saw police cars now and then, which made me feel safer.

If you happen to arrive in Childress, Texas at the end of a day of travel, it is a town with everything a traveler might need. I doubt many people will make Childress a vacation destination, but it is a good stopping place for the night.

It’s a decent little Panhandle town with McDonald’s, a few convenience stores, a couple of restaurants, and a few stopover type hotel/motels. Good for an overnight if traveling between Colorado and points East or South.

There was NOTHING special about this town.
There was NOTHING special about this town. Restaurants and diners closed at 2pm. Nothing but a few fast food places to choose from. The people were nice and professional. But couldn't find any entertainment after my business was done.
This is a Mom and Pop operation, and we really liked that about it. The beds were real Queens too, not "hotel queens." We slept well except for the traffic noise, which is pretty much unavoidable. I liked that the rooms have fridges and microwaves, as well as TV with cable.
The price was lower than other hotels in the area and all we wanted was a room for the night. The location was right on the highway that went through town. The bed was comfortable and the a/c worked well at keeping the room cool.
it was cheap, very cheap, 10-15$ cheaper than any other place and I got to check in late (3AM), the room was nice enough and all the facilities worked. had cold water, bathroom and most stuff were clean, no bed bugs in my room
Staff were very friendly property was quiet room was good. Heater/ac unit was a little loud for me. And the tv wasn't where you could see it from the sitting area the hotel was good for an old hotel and the price was great.
Breakfast was fine. Glad y'all are pet friendly... you charge too much for a small dog though!
Bed was comfy, pillows ... more than one option! AND you had a bathtub for me! Everything ready for check-in... Easy peasy.
The breakfast just didn't measure up to the quality and options that many hotels are offering these days.
The room seemed clean but it did not feel comfortable and inviting.
