I have had a property near to Platja D'aro for over 20 years and make regular visits always taking in Platja D'aro on a few occasions as it has a great choice of restaurants. It has a great water park for kids although it is a little expensive. If you are inclined to visit a little further afield there are many great beaches and small coves and restaurants that make the Costa Brava so exceptional but you do need a car. Taxis are expensive and public transport is almost non-existent

Loved the area, town was buzzing with lots of shops and restaurants and funfair. Very busy at the weekend, hard to a table in a restaurant without queuing.
Not very English oriented, not many English speaking people so be prepared to try to learn a bit of Spanish. Beach at Playa d'aro was coarse but with lots of water sports and restaurants on the promenade. Coast was gorgeous with lots of walks and coves to discover. Easy walk to S'agaro with nice small town and gorgeous sandy beach, lots of water sports.

Great restaurants with lots of choice, Mexican, Italian etc.
Great restaurants with lots of choice, Mexican, Italian etc. The steaks were great.
In the Argentinian Steak House. Nice clothes shops. Also shops with normal sea side stuff. The road with shops etc is set back one line from main beach. There is a long main beach and also the small pretty cove we stayed in.

Safe cycle & walking tracks & beautiful clean beaches.
Sea swimming not suitable for small children as water level deepens very quickly.

Very well cared-for and clean beaches.
Very well cared-for and clean beaches. Small stones are strangely massaging for the feet. Water is warm (in August). Big drop-off in depth from the edge of the beach, so swimming right away. Jazz festival on the beach on Friday evenings in summer.
The suite was definitely a good choice. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful. Reception staff extremely helpful. The rooftop bar staff efficient and friendly. The set dinner was delicious. The spa and the massage were fantastic. Our morning 20 minute 1 km swim was delightful. A great location for triathlon training. Hotel allows bikes stored in the rooms-we put ours on the balcony.
Nice hotel, affordable price, friendly staff. Free parking available on the street. Within a short walking distance from the center/beach. Comfy beds, mini fridge, but no tea/coffee maker. Bathroom has a floor-to-ceiling double window to the bedroom, which has an almost-closed enclosed blinder that you cannot reach, quite a strange design - you can almost see through into the bathroom shower from the bedroom.
I have known the Aromar for over 50 years, we had an apartment in the building next to it. I used to have a drink and sometimes eat there, I have also spent a few nights at the hotel, many years ago. Although the hotel went through a complete make-over and all the faces were new (understandably...), I didn't feel estranged at all.
We had a couple of small problems that they didn’t help me with but they were resolved once I put my guard-dog/latina girlfriend in them at which point they apologised and gave us free drinks. The hotel and location are 10/10!! The barman was also very kind and helpful :)
Secure location, underground parking air conditioner a short minute walk to beach and lots of bars and restaurants.we have stayed many times in Platja d’Aro camping and hotels but this is the first time we have stayed in an apartment and enjoyed it will be back
