Absolutely one of the best little places I've stayed anywhere! It's a cosy little place with only a couple of rooms which open up to a lawn with an amazing view of the castle and the lake. The owner was so welcoming and friendly. I enjoyed getting to chat with her after breakfast and learning more about the area. It was more akin to being a welcomed guest in someone's home rather than just a customer as a hotel. I would absolutely stay there again!

For one night stay everything was good. Nothing stood out as really good.
This 1930s hotel, designed by Finnish architect Wivi Lönn, lies on Lake Saimaa. Olavinlinna Castle is only 1312 feet away. It offers free Wi-Fi, a quiet setting and cozy, individually decorated rooms....

The property is perfectly located next to the center, market, restaurants, grocery shop, train station, boat piers, only the long distance bus station is inconveniently located in totally different neighborhood. The room is modest and the bathroom somewhat inconvenient because of the placement of sanitary fittings in the bathroom. Anyway, everything was doing its job in a satisfactory way. It is also true that the price was quite high, but this is something that is so understandable for the July when famous opera festival/event takes place in the nearby castle/fortress of Olavinlinna. Also, I have noticed that Savonlinna, even without the opera festival is so admired by so many visitors from all parts of Finland and foreign countries, myself included, because of its astonishing beauty and possibility to enjoy in so many sights and activities. To conclude, although the room was simple and modest and although the price was high, I would return to this property because it represents a very good choice for staying and enjoying wonderful Savonlinna.

Will not stay at the Spa Hotel Casino.
Ate at the Muikkuterassi at the rooftop of Sokos hotel at the center market area . Also ate at Ravintola Majakka. Would recommend both places.
Nice walking town.

Savonlinna is so beautiful town.
Savonlinna is so beautiful town. Mainly the castle and the museum are both worth a visit, also a walk around the wooded islands and the town, during which it is worth a visit and refreshments at Cafe Saima, very delicious food.

Beautiful (and crowded) castle, possibilities of cruises on the lake and some nice restaurants. Great market in the mornings. A town for a couple of days, not more (unless you are here for the opera festival).

We had a incident there with poorly managed covid restrictions in upscale pizzeria in centrum. They didn't care social distancing and when we went to say about that, local covid denials launch yelling and swearing show. That ruined our evening and somebody might even say that its not worth to go back there. At least to that pizzeria that is.

Savonlinna pleasantly surprised me.
Savonlinna pleasantly surprised me. It felt like a bigger city and had a lot of good restaurants and shops. Olavinlinna Castle is a must see, and only a short walk from the shore (where you can park). Close by Olavinlinna, you can find shops and restaurants in abundance.
We stayed at Casino Spa and for once, there's an effective air conditioning available at a Finnish hotel. Finland as a whole still thinks our summers are not hot enough to warrant AC, but they're slowly but surely getting there.

Visit Olavinlinna is must.
Visit Olavinlinna is must. I recommend to go to Linnankatu-the old town. People are friendly. Town is very nice place surrounded by water. Also recommend hiking around Olavinlinna, it offer great view of the castle.
My visit was followed by rain, that was reason not to go and see seals!!!

A very lovely flat in a great location. Easy access to the main points of interest (i.e town centre, train station, bus stations, nature, food stores). Pet-friendly (my dog got a special welcome). Warm flat, comfortable bed, kitchen has all amenities, blackout curtains in the bedroom, easy communication with the hosts. What else to wish for. Definitely a place we would come back to stay in if we go to Savonlinna again!
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was excellent.
The area was beautiful with access to the beach, and a walk in the forest. It was in a beautiful setting and very quiet. There was a Koda, actually 2 since there was one near the tower as well, which were great.
The beds were comfortable.
Cute b&b, which used to be an old train station. We had room 1, which was very large with A/C. Dog friendly place. Great breakfast
. We stayed here during the opera festival and their room rates were excellent compared to hotels. Took a bicycle taxi to the castle and it was about 10 minute ride away.
The staff were very kind and helpful, especially given the dire state of the hotel and the hard job they had to do. They did everything they could, I can only speak positively about these poor hard working people in the impossible situation of such a poorly maintained hotel.
Cozy atmosphere and beautiful location in the middle of nature with a lake nearby. However not far away from the city centre. Very friendly and helpful staff. Tasty breakfast with local food. Clean rooms. I would definitely recommend it, also for families.
Loved the actually functioning AC. Loved loved loved it. Hotel restaurant menu was a bit weird. 2/3 visitors in our family chose to eat elsewhere. Just your basic steak and chips would've done the trick, but the menu was heavy on the pizza and pasta.
Excellent location near the castle and city center. Breakfast was quite nice and you can have it in the garden if the weather is nice. Beds are very comfortable. Internet connection works fine. The 1930-style building is well renovated.
An amazing property. Rooms nice. There was an a shared kitchen which was a nice surprise. Breakfast and dinner were outstanding. And the price was amazing- a great value in Finland. Owners were helpful in finding nearby activities.
The hotel is conveniently located on the lake promenade very close to the castle and city centre. Our room had direct view to the lake. There is free private parking and the breakfast was good and varied.
we got a very special room with a loft bed and a small stove with an oven which we used for the evening meal. The breakfast was plentiful with a very good croissant in a nearby restaurant.
Very good location in the heart of Savonlinna. Clean and fresh, good communication. Everything went well. I was very satisfied with this accommodation, was nice to visit. Thank you!
Spacious, well equipped, really comfortable. Host is very responsive. This is a perfect apartment and a perfect location, especially if you are attending the Opera Festival.
Perfect place for vacation. Far from the city ( 15 km from Savonlinna) it mean, taht you will stay at the calmness and quiet in the hidden place! We will return!
