Comfy bed, fantastic large bath, brilliant location.
Not sure why reviews bang on about the parking, it's made clear that the central location means that it's not available. We parked a 2 min walk up the hill. There are further spaces on Frees avenue, a 5 min walk. Or if you're ok to pay, the long stay behind Waitrose had plenty of spaces. Not sure why reviews bemoan the lack of cooked breakfast... Again, clear from the Booking terms what's provided. We thought it was very nice. Decent coffee offered. Proper bath sheets too, and generous shampoo/shower gel & conditioner. Character, too. Can't imagine there's a better stay in the town. Thank you!

The cottage looks and feels like a little piece of history. It was easy to find and John was very responsive and flexible to my travel plans. The proximity to stores and the historic downtown area makes it the perfect place to stay and enjoy Marlborough and the surrounding sites. Would definitely stay again!

Marlborough is lovely with a bustling high street, steeped in history. Lots of bars, restaurants and cafes together with boutique shops to mooch around. While there, we visited the World Heritage site of Avebury with its stone circles and henge and toured the local villages before returning to Marlborough for supper at The Castle and Ball restaurant the first night and Rick Steins for the second.

Marlborough is a lovely country town, with some historic buildings, and a surprisingly good range of shops and (especially) restaurants. It is a great location to explore the surrounding countryside, including the prehistoric sites around Avebury and Stonehenge. There is also lovely countryside to go walking, including Savernake Forest.

The best part of our breakfast was being greeted and served by Marina. She understands the assignment and aces it every time. The food itself was very delicious. We will be visiting most positively be staying with The Crown and Anchor again.
Ben and Ditty went above and beyond to ensure that we had an early check-in and that all was well. Ditty is amazing!

The staff were exceptional, the food excellent, and the location - both within the town and also in relation to National Trust and English Heritage properties - ideal for our needs. We ate in the restaurant one night, and at Rick Stein's the next: The Marlborough was just as good as its more famous neighbour.

A lovely town with quaint unique shops alongside the usual WH Smith’s etc, plenty of parking at a reasonable price.
Stunningly beautiful picturesque villages around the town with some beautiful countryside walks and views
Warm, friendly reception from Nick, very helpful in giving me options for food / breakfast (nothing provided by hotel). Nick also helped me navigate the complicated parking situation outside.
Room was lovely, very clean, tidy and beautifullly furnished in Laura Ashley furniture.
The lack of kettle was offset by the provision of a free bottle of water.
Large HD TV in the room with Netflix
The village is lovely, very picturesque, lots of nice pubs and restaurants on the main road.
10 minutes away from Avebury
Staff team were amazing, friendly and courteous. They all went out of their way to make our stay exceptional. Such a doggy friendly hotel, Alfie got thoroughly spoilt, chef even cooked him sausages for breakfast 💙🐾 The room was spotlessly clean and bed was so comfy, it looked out onto a beautiful courtyard that had a Mediterranean feel about it and it was so quiet. Breakfast was lovely and free onsite parking which is a real plus in Marlborough.
The property was in a good location, about five minutes from the centre of Marlborough. It was a neat and tidy cottage with breakfast items - milk, juice and croissants provided as well as toiletries in the bathroom. We were able to park outside the property every time and a large Tesco was only a few minutes away. On the occasion when I did speak to Karen the host she was extremely pleasant and helpful.
In the heart of Marlborough with lots of cafes and places to eat. Twin room was really nice, clean, comfortable, warm and cosy. Stairs to the room a little tricky but adds to the character of the building. There was a DJ in the pub Saturday night but quietened down at 11.00. All in all really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here again if we return.
The pub and food was lovely and the staff friendly. The room was amazing. Gorgeous bed, wonky old floors and a gorgeous fire place. The bathroom with roll top bath was huge and a real bonus. Cosy, plush cushions and nice biscuits and products. Right in the centre of Marlborough with plenty of pubs and eateries. Friendly and efficient staff too.
Having everything on site had its pluses and minuses. Very handy for breakfast and dinner but a bit of a drive to Marlborough if you wanted to eat out. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Good atmosphere in the bar. Spacious room, comfortable bed, average bathroom. Had to cut short to 2 nights due to weather.

The proximity to stores and the historic downtown area makes it the perfect place to stay and enjoy Marlborough and the surrounding sites. Would definitely stay again!
The rooms are very well done and the location is excellent. The style is more like an Air BnB, with a key in a box to let you in rather than a hotel lobby, yet when I had an issue somebody appeared straight away. For an in-room continental breakfast, it was very good.
The food there was fabulous— both dinner and breakfast. Room was spacious and clean. Staff was very friendly and the location was superb right at the edge of the high street with parking behind the hotel.
Beautiful property in an excellent location. It had everything we needed for a fabulous two-week family stay. We also loved the easy check-in and keyless entry and the lovely views over Marlborough.
Super location! approximately 50 steps to the pub! Tucked back from the High Street but right on the High street :) Marlborough is a gorgeous English town and this house is perfect!
Good location, right in the centre of Marlborough. Decent sized room with a good modern bathroom. Quaint old pub , courtyard for drinking in the heat of the day. Great breakfast
The staff were very friendly and helpful. One young man carried our bags up to our room. The hotel was very central and Marlborough has lots of facilities for shopping and eating .
Friendly staff, comfortable room & central location. Nice atmosphere in the bar for a drink before exploring Marlborough. Enjoyed our one night stay, recommend.
Great welcome and service. Would definitely recommend. Great position right by Marlborough town centre. Beautiful room. Large and clean. Great breakfast.
