Breakfast selection good but could have been hotter. Buffet style, so food cools down quickly.
Evening dinner from restaurant menu very good.
Evening dinner from buffet good selection but same problem as breakfast, cools quickly.
Plates aren't heated.

With a peaceful, rural location, just 20 minutes from the historic university city of Oxford and just 10 minutes from Abingdon, the hotel is rich in original character and dates to the 19th Century.

Staff were very good, attentive to our needs, very chatty and pleasant, breakfast was very nice, room was warm and spacious with enough storage and hangers, gardens look nice and plenty of parking available. We enjoyed dinner in the bar, pies were especially good.

We'd just missed the farmers market on Friday which was a pity. Science convention in the square on Saturday. A real hive of activity. Lots of lovely historical buildings and the Abbey gardens were lovely even on a wet march day.

We live in Leeds so the trip to Abingdon is one of our favourites .A small market town with lots of places to eat and lovely Oxfordshire countryside and wildlife. Nearby Bletchley Park is definitely worth a visit. There are lots of places to walk in Abingdon and lots of history to discover. Oxford is only a bus ride away and they are very regular .Would never drive there.

Check there is not a party or wedding reception the night you are staying. The restaurant, bar and lounge are unavailable and the music goes on until midnight. Not inform of the lack of facilities before or on arrival. Received standard email with restaurant and bar opening times the day before we were due to check in.
I enjoy staying at this property. I have been staying at this hotel every 3 months for the past 3 years. I just hope other guests enjoy this hotel as much as I do. The staff is friendly and helpful, the hotel is located in a park so it's like being on holiday, you can take a very nice walk and yet it's only a 2 minute walk from the city centre. There is a big supermarket (waitrose) near the hotel. The hotel itself looks very nice (like an estate from past centuries) and it's appearance suits the landscape
Good location for central Abingdon. Polite staff but room 1 above pub with music and noise until after midnight, so woken up when kicking out time. No tea and coffee facilities in room, but there was juice and water in fridge on the landing. Room very recently upgraded so it was comfortable and modern in an old creaky floorboards building. Felt it was expensive with no cooked breakfast.
The Plum Pudding is a lovely pub in a quiet location with easy access into Abingdon and Oxford by the local bus. Our room was comfortable, cosy and had everything you needed for your stay. The food in the bar was delicious, the staff were very attentive and polite. Would highly recommend. Parking wasn’t an issue we left our car there all weekend and used the bus.
This is the second time I have stayed at The Hilton Garden Inn Abingdon. A fantastic location with a bus stop near to travel into Oxford. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great car parking facilities and a comfortable lounge area. The rooms are clean. bright and have a modern shower room.
Good central location in a lovely part of Abingdon. Free on site parking. Very close to town centre, supermarket, Abbey Meadows and the River Thames. The hotel has its own Pod Point EV charger, and there are plenty more available in the public car park a 2 minute walk from the hotel.
Great location. Close to Abingdon centre, yet away from traffic noise.
The house is spacious for four people, with good amenities.
Easy to catch X2 bus into Oxford for sightseeing.
Abingdon itself is a nice place, with a very pretty area to explore near the river
The location perfect for my purpose of attending a wedding at Jesus Chapel Oxford and for the closeness of the reception held at Kingston Bagpuize House. The breakfast was a choice of 3 servings and you cannot do any better!!
The flat was centrally located in Abingdon not to far from a store for supplies and close to the Thames for going on nice walks along the river. The atmosphere is very cosy and the welcome basket was a very nice touch.
Friendly welcome. Fresh room clean and well maintained. Spacious bathroom. Close to excellent pub/restaurant which did breakfast. Easy reach of Oxford Abingdon and Didcot.
The location of The Dog House is good for Oxford if you have a car. The room was a good size with bathroom ensuite. The farmers mash breakfast is very good.
Quiet situation close to the river, about half a mile walk from the centre of Abingdon. Well equipped and very clean room. Very good continental breakfast.
The room was clean and comfortable. The lobby and garden were nice. We usually prefer a hotel at a more central location but this time it suited our needs
