The Ness, hotel in Teignmouth

The Ness House Hotel is a Georgian property, built in 1810, on the outskirts of Shaldon village overlooking the Teign Estuary and only a stone’s throw from the beach.

Fabulous location. Loved the accommodation. Very clean and spacious room. Beautiful restaurant with superb views across the estuary. Breakfast was very tasty, although we weren't offered any bread or butter other than the amount that was served with the main course. Wondered why there were jam and honey pots? Otherwise there was a fabulous choice of fruits, yogurts, cereals and croissants. I especially loved the fruit juices. We chose the vegan breakfast and really enjoyed it. The avocados were fresh and the potatoes, mushroom and tomatoes were served hot along with our slice of sourdough bread. The staff are very friendly and polite and we really appreciated their helpfulness.

Good communication with the host, the keys were easily accessible via a lockbox. The cottage itself was warm, cosy and had everything we needed for our stay. Plenty of crockery, cutlery, bedding and towels. We were provided with tea bags, coffee sachets and milk upon arrival. As a Coaching Inn located in Exmouth, UK dating back from the 1790's, the family-run Manor Hotel offers superb views across Exmouth Bay. The hotel feature a lounge bar, in the heart of Exmouth.

Excellent position close to the sea and the town. Nice welcome and check in very straightforward. Large room with sea view. Very clean. We didn't use the restaurant or bar but looked nice. They do a cocktail happy hour. We wanted a last minute night away by the sea and this hotel was very reasonably priced. We were lucky to secure unrestricted on-street parking a short distance away.

Quiet as expected this time of year (February). There were however plenty of tea shops and restaurantes. We enjoyed lovely cakes in Naughty but NIce and great burgers in Rock Bottom. The town is quite hilly so not great if have any mobility issues and want to travel without a car.

Lovely seaside town, very compact so everything is walkable. The beach is nice although it seems to be mostly covered at high tide. Lots of places to eat although three were closed for January/February but still lots of choice. We went to a show at the Pavilions - can highly recommend!

Loverly me Dears... I have to disclose that I'm biased.

Loverly me Dears... I have to disclose that I'm biased. I grew up there and like to return to see my old stomping ground. Must go down Teign Street for lively friendly real ale pubs. Weatherspoons or SPOONS as we calls it is cheap and an easy stagger from the train station, great for a pub crawl or STAG do. Ask for DENNIS TAXI DRIVER. he won't rip you off like others. If they don't have a DEBENSHIRE ACCENT don't get that taxi.!

Teignmouth is often called the gem of South Devon and even in December it looks beautiful. There's three local beaches, a (limited) pier and plenty of coastal walks and sea activities to do. It's a friendly place where everyone seems to have a dog or two. And a short walk over the bridge brings added bonus of Shaldon with its own unique character, pubs and views. The place is a heaven for train lovers too.

Teignmouth is a stunning little town.

Teignmouth is a stunning little town. A bit shabby in parts but has all the charm of an English seaside town. Not tacky either. Beautiful Sandy beach. Great walking opportunities. We bought our dog with us & he loved it. Nice pubs for food. Few art galleries that were good.

Perfect little flat for a short stay in Teignmouth - we squeezed 3 adults in just fine for one night, or would be perfect for a couple with a child. The flat was beautiful and so homey, with teabags, milk, shampoo - Karen went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed! We know Teignmouth very well, and this location right by the Arts Quarter is wonderful, just a short walk from both beaches and all of Teignmouth's great pubs and cafes.

The location of the Hotel was very nice. Parking is a bit restricted, however, there is a P&D car park about 150 yards away. The room was large enough for my wife and I and the bed was very comfy. The breakfast (I had a full English on both days) was excellent. Cooked to perfection and the cereal and fruit salad selection was very good too. All in all, this is a excellent hotel for a stay in Teignmouth.

Really central location. Loved the view to the town from the balconies, especially as it was the Teignmouth Carnival and we got a great view of the floats! Perfect property for our family of three and a dog, who also enjoyed looking out of the windows. Property had everything we needed and the car park was a very short walk away and was reasonably priced.

The fishermen's house was less than a 5min walk from Teignmouth old town centre and a 5 to 10 min walk to the beach. The town has a good selection of traditional shops, pubs, food serving establishments traditional to an English seaside town.
