We stayed for the New Year’s Eve train.
We stayed for the New Year’s Eve train. But was very disappointed when we checked in and had to go to Athens for dinner because with the exception of pizza all restaurants were closed. Even the bar at our lodge was closed for the holiday. If we plan on doing the train again next year, we will just stay in Athens at least we’ll have dinner choices.

I personally would not recommend the mexican restaurant in town.I would recommend going to Lake Hope dining lodge which is 24 minutes away.I would also recommend going into Athens for the farmers market on Saturday morning.Nelsonville square has a nice bakery and coffee shop.The Rocky store is awesome.It is comparable to Cabellas.Nelsonville is easy to get around.The Rocky store rents bicycles so you can toodle around.The Adena bike path starts behind the Rocky store.Murray canoe livery is also 5 minutes from the Rocky store.lauraUnited States of America
