It's a very interesting and nice city. People are very kind and pleasant. There are not as many tourists as in the south of the island. Living in a local neighborhood outside the center was very nice to interact with local people. There are many pleasant cafes and restaurants. There is also a great urban transport system of trams and buses. It is also a beautifully green city with many parks.

We have only ever visited during carnival which is extremely full-on everyday, so don't expect to feel rested after a holiday during that period. But do expect to feel exhilarated by the noise, music, costumes, fancy dress and joy.
I think it would be a lovely place to stay outside of carnival as a city break in dependable warm weather.
Its an easy bus trip to Playa de las Teresitas, and there are many efficient bus routes to other regions of the island. If you wanted to go off the beaten track car hire would be useful. Few if any organised trips start from Santa Cruz, for example, trips Mount Tiede tend to originate from the southern resorts.
Much of the centre is pedestrianised. Its a city for locals so don't expect all menus to be translated. Food orientated towards local taste also, which is excellent IMO.
Lots of good shops in the centre.
No great permanent cultural highlights, although I understand the Tenerife Orchestra is one of the best in Spain.

Locals are absurd towards tourist especially a strong feeling of animosity towards British travellers. I have never experienced this anywhere else in Spain but felt like a total outsider in Santa Cruz compared to other places I have visited.

they check you in very early - 12:30 :) the hotel is located in a very quiet street, very clean room, all you need in the bathroom that is very clean too. nice reception service, parking for free in the streets nearby, there is a bar/cafe next door where you can grab a good breakfast for under 5euro (or beer/wine later on during the day), good-sized balcony compensates for not the greatest size of the room. bakeries nearby. 15mins of walking and you are in the centre of Santa Cruz.
The hotel's location in Santa Cruz is excellent, it's right on the main pedestrian area of the city. I found the bed comfortable and, unlike the rest of the room, the bed sheets were clean. Temperature in the room was perfect during my stay in February but there is no air conditioning so I imagine it'll get hot in the summer. The room was dated but functional. There were two sockets available, and two that were taken by the TV and the (noisy) fridge.
The hotel was amazing, super clean, decoration is nice and everything is automated so you don’t have to worry about losing or carrying the hotel Keys.
We enjoyed breakfast one day and it was super complete, plus, the terrace area is lovely so this is something I highly recommend.
I want to mention Fede! She was just amazing, gave us recommendations for restaurants and her energy was just incredible (thank you for this).
The hotel is very pretty, the location is within walking distance from a lot of restaurants, cafe's, stores and parks. I really appreciated how big and clean the room was.
The receptionist that checked us in was really helpful and she happened to also be Romanian, like us. She recommended us some places to eat and things to visit. Also, our requests were fulfilled quickly.
Great little hotel just 10 minutes walk from the main action in Santa Cruz. It's located in a quiet residential area but an easy walk to the centre. The hotel is beautifully clean and well kept with very comfortable rooms and a gorgeous pool area with loungers and couches. The staff are all so friendly and polite. I'd definitely stay here again.
I had the most wonderful stay in AC Hotel. Well located, rooms clean and very comfortable, all top facilities you might need, the pool is fantastic and the bar is Next Door for food and drinks. Extra point for the excelent service provided by the staff. Wonderful stay! I'll come back with no doubt!
Beautiful hotel that is across the street from the Stasse park. The park is spectacular, a must see. Hotel is within walking distance of restaurants & shopping. We were in Santa Cruz for 5 nights, 3 or 4 would have been enough. Beds were comfortable. Roof top gym & pool very nice. ⁹
We had only one day at Santa Cruz, but it was a very good choice to stay at this hotel. It's new, modern, clean and comfy, the rooftop terrace with a small pool is a perfect bonus. Staff was very kind and helpful. The breakfast was just amazing! We really enjoyed our stay there.
The beds where really good. The shower excellent. I don't think I ever stayed in a hotel where I didn't need to fully open the valve in order to get a powerful shower :-)
The staff was friendly and helpful and the location is really good.
This is a great aparthotel in a residential part of Santa Cruz, with spacious apartments, beautiful views and great value for money. This is the 5th time I returned and will continue to do so.
Location and hotel facilities were great! Being next to the park was also a big advantage and walking distance to the town center. Transport was also great in Santa Cruz. Staff was also great!
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Hotel facilities as expected for a 'chain hotel' of this category. Location is OK, not in the very center of the city, but walking distance (10/15 mins).
Great location, by the seafront, for exploring Santa Cruz and the surrounding area. The hotel looked brand new and was very modern and well equipped. Staff were very helpful.
The hotel was in the perfect location for Carnival festivities, great balcony view to watch parades go by and you hear all of the music from the street parties.
