Pucallpa is more relaxed than Iquitos but The jungle in Peru is difficult in general for white foreigners. There is a lot of racism. It is not my favorite city in the jungle. Not a lot to wander around. People are very kind. I recommend visiting the boiling river but the bride's veil waterfall was a rip-off: too much travel time for something not amazing at all. Food was great everywhere, specially in: Tuyuyo, el Toro Pez and Ukaw. The restaurant has some of the best food in the city and I am grateful to the chef for making me pasta primavera (with lots of fresh vegetables). The hotel grounds are immaculately clean; the staff is friendly, accommodating and helpful. I received one of the best massages I have ever had (and I say this as a practicing massage therapist!).
