Nothing was good. Left early. Not clean. No fresh linen, sleeping in the last persons sheets. Slept on hide a bed, you could feel the springs. Transferred to another property, overbooked!!! Earwigs in the room, manager will gaslight you. Many problems so far. Dirty rooms bad coffee, they dont clean but still charge high. I like Whitby and the destination was right by the go train...
I like Whitby and the destination was right by the go train so we could go to a concert in Toronto. It was the hotel that was bad avoid motel 6. I was not expecting the Royal York for the money we paid but I did expect cleanliness.

This building was terrible.
This building was terrible. Requested an early check in amd found out upon arrival that our room wasn't ready. Told we were being upgraded to a nicer room. The room we were given was disgusting. No water pressure. Tub drain was rotting and looked like it hadn't been cleaned out in months. Bed was terribly uncomfortable. The hallways were cluttered with rolls of baseboard trim. Plus, the entire building smelled like cigarette smoke. Do not recommend.

We were in Toronto for a couple of ball games and decided to stay in Whitby. We have stayed at Quality Suites multiple times but this was the worst. We arrived at 7:50 pm. There was a line up to check in. The front desk person was new and very considerate but slow. When our turn finally came he announced that our room was not ready because they were short on housekeepers. He left the desk to check to see what rooms were clean. Thank you for not sending us to a dirty room. We waited another 15 mins for his return. When we finally did get to our room, it was not great but manageable. The room smelled very musty. There were no bath towels except for the dirty one on the back of the bathroom door. We got new ones from the front desk. There were multiple lights that did not function. There was a large stain on the couch. There were black spots on the bedroom lamp. Photo below. The TV was very fuzzy on most channels. There was a loud pulsating sound in the bedroom the entire visit. The breakfast attendent was constantly complaining about how busy it was and that it was only her. Clearly this hotel needs more staff and some TCL. I began to tell these issues to the front desk only to be told to call the manager on Monday after 9am as there was no manager on the weekend. Would not recommend this place.

We went for my son's birthday and took him to the Playdium arcade which was reasonably priced considering 2022 everything is expensive or cheaply done. Variety of arcades, that will have you play for hours. Sadly he was just too young to try the VR, but the rope climbing was fun. Dining around Whitby is a must if you into vegan, burgers, or steaks. A lot of places are similar priced to fast food so we insist you skip any chain and look for the small dining or take out experiences for the best food in town. Just doing a google search will find what you are craving as the city has something for everyone. Didn't really notice much litter around the downtown core, there wasn't any festivals going on when we went either.CoryCanada

The owners assisted us with their streaming channels. They had an iron and ironing board. The fireplace was easy to use on cold evenings. Entrance to accommodation was well lite.

As a couple we don't live alone at the moment so this is an amazing suite to be on our own for a few days and enjoy the time alone. We also love that we were able to plug in a HDMI port and stream our movies from the laptop. We haven't encountered a hotel that let us do that yet.
