Grand Rapids is a Great Place to visit!
Avoid the Itascan Motel!
We booked a room there but it was so in need of repair and dirty that we decided not to stay.
We were happy to get out of there even though we had to pay the cost of staying at another hotel in Grand Rapids.

Well, we were there specifically to see several museums and unfortunately all of them were either closed (after Labor Day) or had been transformed into something else. Luckily, it was easy to get in or out of town and be on our way.

I live in southern Minnesota.
I live in southern Minnesota. I get 3weeks of vacation per year, and all of it is spent in the Grand Rapids area hunting and fishing. I've been "going up north" to this area for 42 years and love it. I hunt and fish in southern Minnesota a lot, but when I'm up north, It's peaceful and quiet and most places we go are off the beaten path back in the woods and we don't see any humans, just animals.

This small hotel is easy to miss but totally out-performs all the big chains!!! The rooms are smaller but furnished very modern (almost like our daughters retro furniture). I was shocked when I saw it had a full kitchen-like area complete with not only a fridge and microwave but with dishes, silverware, can opener, wine glasses and other necessities - lol!!! The breakfast was amazing!!! Instead of the usual buffet or grab-n-go stuff these days they had an actual menu where you could order what you wanted (mostly crepes and fruit which are their specialties) and then each guest receives a $10 credit towards the breakfasts which are pretty reasonable to begin with. I had the smoked salmon crepe and it was amazing!!! The wife had a strawberry cream crepe and it was also amazing. With coffee discounts and tip it came to about $10 which it's easily worth. All of the staff are really nice. We'll definitely be returning here in the future!!!

Been a visitor of Grand Rapids for over 40 yrs.
Been a visitor of Grand Rapids for over 40 yrs. It has grown and changed alot over the years. Miss the nostalgic places like the historic Ben Franklin building, Bridgmans with their LaLa Palooza Sundaes and Reeds Drug Store. I still like that you can still walk the small shops in town and all the different things they have to offer. After this Covid Virus is under control we look forward to coming back for Tall Timber Days and the County Fair. Hopefully get in a tour at Blandin and Forest History CTR too.

We didn't do much in Grand Rapids, we own a lot 13 miles North of Grand Rapids and hadn't seen it in 30 years. We also have a friend who lives North of Grand Rapids and we visited with him and he came down for meals with us.
Before checking in, we were called and told our room wasn't rentable. After talking with the staff, they said to come and check it out. Apparently, there had been a long term rental and it needed painting. We were fine with the room because there were no other hotel rooms in the area available. The staff was very apologetic for the notice and were very accommodating in showing us the room and explaining the circumstances. The kitchenette is a nice amenity and we liked the location.
This boutique hotel is so cute. It looks like a renovated gas station and the furnishings were updated, modern and cozy. I loved the Christmas decor and that they’re pet friendly. The yurt looks like an awesome hangout spot and although I didn’t use it- the dry sauna out back is a nice bonus. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. All of them were so sweet and personable.
just about everything. we only used it for two nights. We had meals with family and at area restaurants, so we didn’t make use of all the kitchen amenities, but had we known, we might have prepared meals there. The smart tv far exceeded what you get in hotel rooms. The location was a short walk from our family gathering.
Enjoyed the cinnamon buns. The bed was so clean and comfortable. It was exactly what we needed after driving all day. The front desk staff were so friendly and helpful. The atmosphere of the hotel was very pleasant. We had stayed at three other hotels on our trip and this one was hands down our favorite.
This hotel was dirty filthy disgusting. We would not take our shoes off. You should NOT be offering this hotel on your site. We stayed as we already made a mistake in reservation for last night and did not want 3 hotel charges. I took pictures i can send u. Literally not worth paying for disgusting.
This is a smaller informal hotel that has worked hard with Ikea to modernize it's look It has produced a reasonably comfortable outdoor extension to it's bar that doubles as the dining area. The staff are generally pleasant and friendly. It is a pet friendly location .
I liked the hot breakfast with scrambled eggs and ham, hash browns with veggies mixed in and oatmeal porridge, various yogurts apples and oranges. The breakfast room was spacious, attractive and comfortable and better than normal. I would recommend this hotel.
We didn’t have the breakfast but the hotel decor was fantastic. Rooms were spacious & well designed. Lots of device plugins. Fridge & microwaves GREAT. Walk-in shower GREAT. Best thing: Light around the bathroom mirror took 10 years off! lol
My stay here overall was very good. The check in was easy and the hotel was right in the area that I needed to be in for my trip. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable.
One of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in, in a hotel. The complimentary breakfast was also one of the best, if not best, that I've ever had at a hotel. The staff was very helpful.
Very comfortable and clean. Hotel representative was very responsive. This hotel is located at a very good vicinity where you have access to many retail shops.
