Vicenza has all the beauty and history of the great cities...
Vicenza has all the beauty and history of the great cities of the region, like Padua and Verona, but none of the tourists. It's much smaller and compact - you can walk from one side of the city walls to the other in 25 mins - but all the better for that. And the major attractions are the Palladian villas and civic buildings, both in the city and in the hills around the city, all easily walkable - no need for a car. It's a great base for exploring the other attractions of the Veneto by train: Venice in 40 mins, Padua in 25, Verona in 35 (and those are the cheaper regional trains, not the high speed Frecciarossa at 3 times the price but barely faster for these short-hop destinations). Not being a tourist hot-spot, the prices are lower: you can still get an espresso for 1 euro, and that was in the cafe (Caffe degli Artisti) next to the major draw of the Teatro Olimpico, Europe's oldest covered theatre. Superb variety of good value pizzas (and excellent beers) at the Pizzeria Vesuvio nearby. And for something different, go to the Parco Querini: an attractive park but what we didn't expect were the dozens of domestic rabbits hopping all over the place: brown, black, white, spotted, long-haired. Very surreal. Coypu too, swimming in the lake and water channels.

Vicenza is superb for about 3 day stay - to recover our tastebuds after Germany - and is charming for that period. There were a number of exhibitions and museums (and the Theatre Olympico is a must) together with pleasant food, wine and company

We were only in Vicenza for 2 full days so we went to the ticket office and purchased a pass to visit 4 museums/attractions. We used 3 on just the first day so went back for another 2 on the second day (6 in total). Each one was terrific and well worth a visit. There are endless cafes and restaurants so we were never short of somewhere to sit and relax and enjoy great food and drink. Also lots of great shops.
Our hotel was very central so everything was within easy reach. For those who record their steps each day, we did a bit over 10,000 each day - very manageable.

Vicenza is an overlooked city in the hear of Italy.
Vicenza is an overlooked city in the hear of Italy. It has a wonderful selection of bars and restaurants, great museums, and incredibly kind people. The history is everywhere. Recommend visiting the numerous churches, museum of jewelry, and the theater if you have to choose just a few things. The city is walkable with many small streets to walk through while window shopping.

A lovely upscale town.
A lovely upscale town. Very safe, lots of restaurants and bars. Beautiful Palladian architecture. Highly recommend Palladian Tours. We had a walking tour and a self-guided e-bike tour (with GPSand online narration) of the Palladian villas on the outskirts of town. It’s a long but fun day! Avoid the restaurant called Prep on the main square: tourist trap that charges three times the coperto of other places on the piazza, accepts only cash (which you don’t know until time to pay), they insist that pizzas are personal size only even though it’s large enough for two people and will not let you share, and they have no boxes or means of transporting leftover pizza for you to enjoy the next day.
The hotel is located in the pedestrian street of Vicenza, about 100 metres from Bisilica and 600 metres from the train station and about the same distance from the Teatro Olimpico. The hotel is ideally located in a beautiful area. The accommodation is modern inside, the rooms are clean and well furnished. The staff are friendly and helpful. The internal parking is ok, with the car being parked in a back yard by the staff. During our stay no negative things like noisy street etc.
This is a great hotel. It is actually a palace that has been converted into a hotel. It has got all the modern amenities you can wish for when travelling. Staff were very helpful and friendly. It is centrally located in Vicenza, close to all the main attractions such as Basalica and Teatro Olimpico. The walk from the train station took us about 15 minutes. Highly recommended if you are planning to visit Vicenza.
Good position, close to Olimpic Theatre and Corso Palladio, the main street in Vicenza, and not far from the Railway Station (about 20 min. walking). Helpful staff, good value for money, since this is one of the cheapest accomodations in the area and Vicenza is not far from other important places in Veneto.
Spacious lockers in the dormrooms (keys are provided) and breakfast included.
We came over to Italy to visit our daughter and son in law who both serve in the Army. Our stay at Liberty Dream was our favorite of all the places we stayed. It was very clean, with big fluffy towels and great rooms, comfortable beds and a great kitchen. If your looking for a great place to stay reasonably priced, you have found it in Liberty Dream!
The location was extremely convenient for exploring downtown Vicenza and the rooms were beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the option of dining at Cucu restaurant and appreciated the full kitchen with generous supply of bottled water. The beds were very comfortable, and we were provided with an ample supply of towels and other amenities.
Great breakfast. Fresh made juice. Eggs to order. Wonderful staff. Very clean. Cleaners were wonderful. Nearby public transportation. The restaurant in the hotel is the absolute best quality to value in Vicenza. Was in the top 3 after three years. One of the best restaurants in Italy to be honest. From seafood to florentina steak.
This Hotel really is special. A beautiful Palazzo with an integrated underground garage. Our room made us feel very comfortable. The personel is perfect and very friendly. Our special thanks to Giulia, the director, for her friendliness and very useful tipps regarding sightseeing in Vicenza as well as in Venice.
Thank you! 😊
Well situated rental, close to Vicenza city centre, bus stops and grocery shops. Nice renovated flat with modern kitchen, smart TV, AC, and bathroom.
Perfect location to discover the region (Verona,Venice). The host was friendly and answered all our questions. Easy and convenient check-out. Would love to come back again!
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and just enough for 2 adults with 2 kids, but the hotelf itself is not so spacious. Breakfast is just fine, no special comments; maybe more vegetables would be nice. The location is perfect, less than 10 mins walk from Basilica Palladiana. Would come again!
The breakfast was good for a 3 star hotel. Scrambled eggs good, bread ok, coffee so, so. All absolutely acceptable for this level hotel. Location directly across from Ederle Kaserne pedestrian gate and easy bike ride to downtown was very good. Parking tight but ok for free.
Very good place, just at the centro historico. You can park before the hotel in safe place and it is only 9 euro/day. Massimo, at the reception is exelent! The room is big, faces to the park. The breakfast is reach. The price is good for value. I can recomend to everybody.
the Hotel is very good. The staff is very friendly and professional. The lobby and rooms are spacious with a large walk-in shower, if requested.
It is very clean and well kept. The location is convenient to many restaurants and sites. The parking lot needs repaving.
Wonderful staff. Warm, friendly and helpful in every way. Delightful hotel and rooms with a charming rooftop bar and terrace. Perfect location for visiting the Palladian palaces, villas the basilica and other treasures in Vicenza.
Breakfast was lovely, the location was fantastic, the staff (and guests) were really kind and caring. The room had a ceiling fan. The hotel was right off the main square and right in the old town. It was a perfect location.
A well-equipped, super-clean, comfortable and roomy apartment for a more than reasonable price, close to the highway exit Vicenza Est, which makes it a perfect stop on your way further into (or from) Italy .
Vicenza is a hidden treasure of a town. The hotel is in a quiet area with a great ice cream place right nearby and you are in the action of the Historic Centre in less than 4 minutes walk.
