A historical, well preserved old city in the middle of Kurzeme. Well worth the new status on UNESCO world heritage list. The waterfall Ventas rumbas is impressive, not for it height, but for its width.

A must-have visit for tourists who come to Latvia and have extra time to get further away from the capital (2h drive). The city is well-renovated while keeping the oldschool charm. Restautants, shops, and nice people.
The nature around if beautiful. Kuldiga has the widest waterfall in Europe (widest, not highest :))

Kuldiga is an attractive ancient town filled with cobble stone streets and wooden buildings. The old town is rather compact and hence easily seen on foot. There are plentiful food outlets and pubs serving reasonably priced food and beer. We ate at Marmalades on Pasta iela (street) several times as it had good home-made food at a reasonable price. 20 to 30+ year olds seem to have a good command of English and were happy to answer questions or give directions. We enjoyed the relaxed vibe by day and felt safe wandering the streets at night - its light until about 11.00pm!

It combined fine dining with relatively tourist free (maybe in August there aren’t many tourists there anymore) town. The old buildings in the centre are almost exclusively protected and only renovated from the inside. Kuldiga is covered with flowers to decorate the old buildings. There are many bridges and obviously the red brick bridge is stunning. I also cannot not mention the widest waterfall in Europe. Crossing it is a must and I certainly did. Mind you, even though the water only reaches your knees at its deepest, the current tries to grab you along and the algae makes the stones slippery. I must admit I accidentally went swimming fully clothed!

Restaurants in town square are perfect. Food is tasty.
Would recommend to visit Riezupe sand caves and the waterfall of course.
Kuldiga is perfect for two days get - away.

Very nice, cozy town.
Very nice, cozy town. Surprisingly good food at local restaurants, catering to different tastes. Due to small number of restaurants, it is advisable to book the table in advance, especially during mass events.
Ventas Rumba is the best place where to spend hot summer days. Few after-dinner walks around city center is enough to see all the historic buildings. For additional (interesting) info just take guided tour, it is worth it. Additional places of interest are just short trip away, especially suited for those on bicycles.
P.S. Kuldiga is a small town, no nightlife whatsoever.
Everything was great :)
➕ Location: in the middle of city, close to the majority of touristic attractions (Ventas rumba, old city, bridge) + walking distance from bus stop, shops and restaurants.
➕ Room: clean, spacious, very comfortable bed, good sound proofing, TV with local channels, light covering curtains.
➕ Bathroom: clean, private, provided soap/gel shower(not a good one, but still), 4 towels
➕ Staff: friendly and professional.
Compliments: candies with hotel logo (tasty caramel)
Highly recommended :)
Location was perfect and the owners were welcoming. The rooms and furnishings were very comfortable and we slept peacefully during our stay. Overall, the hotel was exceptionally clean, tastefully decorated, and full of Latvian touches and character. We were glad to have the option of well functioning AC on hot days. The breakfast next door was delicious and service was accommodating.
the most charming place I have been in the whole northern Europe. Would be Ideal for writing or creative work!
Very central location but quiet room. VERY old building, much more archaic than it looks like in the pictures.
The town of Kuldiga was an absolute surprise, my new favourite in the whole Baltic region!
But I do not recommend it, so tourism will not spoil it ;)
Excellent location, in the city center, close to all more prominent sightseeing places in Kuldiga. The apartament has very interesting design bringing you some 100 years back in the past. Excellent balance between charm of the past and nowday's comfort. Well equipped, you will find there all you need. Friendly host, quick and good communication.
The property looked better and more spacious than in pictures! We were looking for a place to stay in a group and it was perfect for us. The owner was kind to respond to all of our requests, despite us booking last minute. We highly enjoyed our stay and will stay again if we ever need accomodation in Kuldīga!
Very nice, cosy apartment in Kuldiga center. Everything you need for a great stay - cosy beds, nice interior, coffee, tea, salt, pepper, oil for cooking. Nice that there were candies - kiddo almost ate them all. Super clean and mini fireplace was a bonus also. Easy check in and check out, great host.
Beautifully designed, very comfortable and well equipped (including the kitchenette), and fantastic value for money. Comfy bed. A little away from central Kuldiga, but it was within walking distance for us. The breakfast for €10 was very filling and again, good value.
Hotel is a hidden gem, specially if you stay indoors or have windows not facing the big apartment buildings next door. Rooms are large, beds comfortable. Good for a holiday as there was no working corner in the room.
City is a 10-15 minutes walking distance.
Nice staff. Good breakfast. Quiet location. Kuldīga is a beautiful city. We will visit the city again, but probably won’t stay here. Really wanted to like it, but the experience didn’t match the cost.
Best location in Kuldīga with very nice sites and views. Dace (host) is very hospitable. We've also ordered sauna option. Grocery shop 600 meters from hotel. 4 cats which like caress.
Place is clean, cozy and oozes historical charm. Facilities are new, there is a nice kitchen and friendly hosts. Very great location in historical center of Kuldiga.
