lovely place for wedding party,
but noisy wedding guests spoiled the stay for me,
traffic noise was an issue too, as dual carriageway on two sides of the property ,
lovely walks close by
lovely staff too
very good restaurant for dinner and breakfast

The staff were excellent, nice and very helpful.
The staff were excellent, nice and very helpful. Breakfast was average and the evening meals were adequate, but the hotel was lovely as you would expect from a country manor house, very quirky too. The room and especially the bathroom are superb, very cleanly kept too,
Would we go back ?
Probably would, It is expensive but for a special occasion it is somewhere we would consider again.

Levens is a pretty little place, narrow roads and lanes require care though it was not busy. I'd recommend the Hare and Hounds as a great place to eat, good food, friendly staff and reasonably priced.

I used Levens as a base and drove out each day to visit other parts of the Lake District. It’s a good location to get out onto the road and drive to other places. There did seem to be a local bus service but I didn’t use this so I’m not sure how frequent the buses are. I’d suggest that you really do need a car if you’re staying here.
The local area also seemed to have good options for things to do - eg Levens Hall.
Levens is a small, pretty village. The Hare and Hounds has parking so it was easy to park next to where I was staying. The pub is a friendly place to spend time.
I had Sunday dinner and breakfasts at the pub - the food is of a high quality and you can tell that great care is taken in preparing and presenting it. It’s good wholesome food.

With very helpful front desk staff, the ambience was relaxing and comfortable. The quality of the rooms (despite paying the upper price of those available) was ok, not that much better than a Premier Inn just smaller. Water pressure in the shower poor to the point that when inverted, the water flow almost stopped. Lots of unmentioned stairs, no lift, uneven car park. The meals were good (breakfast) to very good (a la carte dinner). Drinks reasonable selection but on the upper level of pricing, de rigueur for this sort of location, but within reason. Television remote wasn't working and the two replacements brought up didn't work either. Easy to find and nicely out of the way. if they were aiming for "shabby chic" they aren't far off.
A little bit of luxury in the heart of Levens. Our room was spacious, with light bright bathroom, lovely toiletries, comfy bed and plenty tea and coffee for that all important brew. There is a warm welcoming atmosphere in the bar and restaurant. Food is superb , who knew Shepherd’s Pie could be so delicious! great choice of drinks served by friendly staff. Breakfast was also plentiful and good quality. A great find.
We requested a room with a view and were given room 11 with a beautiful dual aspect view of the grounds. The room has a quirky reading nook too.
Breakfast was good. Pleasant surroundings with an opulent feel to the sitting room and public areas.
Reception gave us details of a 3 mile walk through the grounds and along the river in Levens Park. This was very enjoyable.
We would definitely stay again.
Liked the hotel, loved the staircase and entrance lobby tiles, the location was great, the staff were friendly, the mananger was extremely helpful and the dinner service was great , the grounds are very nice , we saw some Deer on the front lawn at dusk and in the early morning which was really nice. The full english breakfast was really nice.
What a find! Everything was just great, would definatley recommend for a short break. Levens is a lovely place just a little way out of the tourist areas in the lakes. The breakfast and evening meal where really good and the rooms comfortable and stylish with tea/coffee facilities and a fridge. Staff are amazing!
Room was furnished beautifully. All meals excellent and staff so helpful and friendly. Ideally located for Levens Hall topiary gardens and for visiting the lakes. All in all, a perfect stay. Look forward to revisiting.
Only problem was we didn't have long enough here so are going to have to re visit. Stayed here but wedding at villa Leven's. Rooms/staff/Breakfast first classing. Nothing not to like thanks
Some of the staff were great and helpful, see below for the opposite.
The driveway, the fields around the hotel look lovely but the building itself looks a bit tatty in places.
We were amongst first guests after lockdown and it was quite obvious that the hotel/staff were in process of opening hotel after a long closure.
Location excellent for lakes.
The hotel is in a beautiful location, the main staircase is stunning, the staff were friendly, it is local to family we were visiting, the bed was very comfortable.
The hare and hounds levens was superb! A little country pub/hotel down a quiet country lane. Staff wonderful and food great!! Would recommend to anyone!
