The fashionable Normandy resort of Deauville is famed for its international film festival that attracts worldwide celebrities. The most famous names from the silver screen are immortalized on the entrances to changing rooms lining the wood, beachfront boardwalk – the Promenade des Planches.
The beach itself is a long stretch of golden sand overlooked by exclusive residences, luxury hotels and the chic casino which is most spectacular at night. As you would expect of such a resort, Deauville also has a golf course, marina housing fancy yachts, and a race track. Some of France’s largest horse training facilities are here, and the surrounding area is full of thoroughbreds.
One of these was once owned by the Strassburger family who lived in one of Deauville’s most beautiful houses – the Villa Strassburger. Its half-timber elements and multi-angled roof are typical of the town’s architecture. Other similar examples include boutique shops and the Hotel Normandy, a historic property now owned by the Barrière group who also run the elegant Hotel Royal overlooking a seafront park.
In addition to these 5-star hotels, Booking.com has vacation homes near Deauville Airport, and cheap apartments by the train station which also serves the Parisian Riviera town of Trouville across the River Touques.
Best: Our numerous trips to Trouville across the river.
Best: Our numerous trips to Trouville across the river. This place has character and the excellent restaurants / coffee shops were great value compared to Deauville. The fish market in Trouville excellent
Worst: I would avoid Deauville next trip. Nothing to offer for my interests.

A beautiful, very upmarket seaside resort.
A beautiful, very upmarket seaside resort. If you are going to get run over in Deauville, it will probably be by a Ferrari or an Aston Martin! A great beach with a beautiful boardwalk. The beach is so huge I doubt it will ever actually be full. Good choice of restaurants to suit most budgets. Le Week End was particularly good and great value.

Lovely little seaside village with nice restaurants & all within walking distance. Easy to get around (walking) but taxis are scarce & need to be booked in advance, especially if arriving at the train station.

Deauville is a vibrant town with a vast choice of great restaurants and shops. The beach is only a few minutes walk from the hotel.
Trouville is a 15/20minute walk again a vast choice of restaurants, the fish market is great and gets very busy.
The horse racing is great in Deauville with two tracks one within walking distance, the other just a cab ride. There is also an equestrian centre which host various levels of competitions.
The staff at the hotel very helpful especially Emilie on the reception and Jean-Francois who runs the restaurant.

Please watch the intake of water.
Please watch the intake of water. There are not alot of places to use the restroom. The beache is nice and fills up quickly. Parking is very tight so if you can walk from a far that would be your best option. Bring your necessities (towel, water, sun screen snacks, sanitizer and toys for the kids).

Stunning beach town with incredible architecture.
Stunning beach town with incredible architecture. Great market and high end shops. Recommend the Brasserie de Marie and il parusole. Other restaurants great but very pricey-although the duck at La Flambée is worth the visit. Trouville across the bridge is also outstanding as is Honfleur down the road
The room was clean and very bright during the daylight due to the windows in the bathroom and the living-room. I was there at the end of March and it was still very cold outside, so I was very happy about well insulated room and well functioning heating. Also since the hotel was a bit remote from the beach, there was no strong noise from the wind perturbing the sleep.
One of these newer style hotels, a bit "less is more" approach, quite trendy and similar to Moxy hotels but not quite there. Staff were friendly but young and bit inexperienced I'd say. Breakfast is great but you've got to grab a table, it got pretty busy down there. Rooms are cool. Chill out and Work areas are great. Location is good for the station.
If you want to spend a week-end in Deauville you may like to spend a night at Premiere Classe Deauville Touques. A small room, basic accomodation with free parking outside the door. It’s located between McDonalds and a Grill Room so eventually you can eat something nearby. Breakfast is available at the hotel for € 6,50.
All was good in the hotel except for the cleaning, it was not awful but there where some hairs in the bed and pillow.. we talked with the manager and she manage to fix everything as soon as possible and she was very kind and apologized for it.. otherwise everything else was very good !!
This is a truly great place to stay. Your host, Philippe could not be kinder or more attentive.
We left after a delicious breakfast to return to Ouistreham, always sad to leave Normandy.
Is there a nicer region in France? For me, NON!
Good but relatively expensive breakfast 54EUR for 2. Excellent room service. Really nice hotel staff. Good location for both going to the beach or exploring the town. Everything VERY clean and tidy. Free parking at public area.
wonderfully accommodating, we were traveling with our 3 month old baby. The hotel made it very easy for us, making our trip to Deauville very enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.
the breakfast was very good and the breakfast room charming. The hotel is in a very old house, it has been beautifully renovated but there are still some steep ceilings that might be difficult for some.
Good communication, bathroom and kitchen facilities well presented, space to park and key pick up (from a local hotel) worked. The apartment itself (apart from the small size) is well presented.
