The location was stunning and the room we booked overlooked the fields and sea. The shower was excellent. The breakfast was excellent for 4 out of the 6 days, however on one day the chef didn't turn up and on our final day the food wasn't the best, it was very dry. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Vicky was amazingly friendly, helpful and fun. Hotel was very clean and perfect location. Great sea views.
The cost was really good value and for that I wasn’t expecting it to be so good as it was.

The location was amazing! Derrick was a wonderful host. And his granddaughter welcomed us with the most amazing and beautiful cupcakes on arrival. Derrick gave all the best recommendations on what to see, where to eat, and history of the hotel itself.

The hosts were wonderful people, the property was very tastefully down with every room portraying its own unique story. The check-in process was seamless and the location was bang in the middle of the city. Strongly recommend spending some time at their Paris library which will make you travel back time!
unusual place with a mixture of terrain . The beach is quite something on a sunny day and well worth a visit along with the Portland Bill lighthouse where we were lucky enough to see a Seal . I would certainly recommend a visit which also has the benefit of Weymouth a 10-15 minute drive away. Local People we spoke to seemed genuinely funny and helpful.

Even though it has quite limited options of where to eat in the island, for climbers it is a lovely place to go. A lot of the beaches I know from there are pebbled one so bring suitable footwear so your feet do not hurt. This is the second time (always in Sep) I come to this part of Dorset, I discover something knew evert time.

We visited Portland to go on a Sailing trip on Moonfleet. Great experience and a fun day.
Restaurants were limited in the area. Salt is near the harbour but card only and expensive. The Cove Inn is beautiful, gorgeous setting to watch the sunset.
A trip to Portland Bill is a must whilst visiting, stunning views.
There are places of interest in Castletown with the D-Day museum and Castle just around the corner.

Scenic with lovely coastal views.
Scenic with lovely coastal views. If you like cliffs and walking or visiting lighthouses, it's great. We didn't get on to Chesil beach - couldnt quite work it out.
The cafe we found was really expensive!!

We were learning stone masonry so were very interested in the quarries and fossils. We ate our fish and chips from Ray’s at the lighthouse - what a lovely view. We ate at Les Enfant Terrible and Rockfish in Weymouth - the Crab shack was fully booked sadly.

Didnt know much about Portland before going but had an excellent long weekend there. Kids loved the pebble beaches and rocks to climb over and finding lots of fossils made their weekends. Lots of things to see and some good pubs and food options. Also very close to weymouth but glad we stayed in portland
We had a great week at Unicorn cottage in Portland and would definitely choose to stay here again. The house was great - really cosy, clean and welcoming. The little touches were much appreciated; coffee, tea, biscuits, sparkling drink, dishwasher tabs, washing powder, toilet roll, the list goes on!
The house was in a good situation, only a few minutes walk to the beach. The parking tight but perfectly doable. All in all a great stay and would heartily recommend to anyone wanting to explore Portland and the surrounding areas more.
The view from the balcony is lovely at any time or day or night and makes the living room nice and bright. Check in was easy and parking was very handy. It was perfect for sitting out at night and there is a lovely little ferry that leaves from directly outside to take you into Weymouth harbour (£20 return but worth doing imo). The apt is well placed if you want to explore Portland (mainly walks, not much in the way of entertainment or eateries). The walk round Portland Bill is gorgeous.
The room was very clean and we had excellent view from the room. We could see the harbor and sea from 2 sides of the room. The room size was reasonably good size. The breakfast was very good and we all enjoyed. Number of parking was limited, so we had to park on the road just next to the Hotel. There was a paid parking on back of the hotel which was reasonable price and free from 6pm-8am. The location was very close to the Chesil Beach and Portland Castle.
Great location as about 5 minute walk from the beach and you get some awesome views of the sunset from the main bedroom.
Really nice cottage with everything we needed for a long weekend and suitable for kids. Met the owner and he was very nice. Well looked after property and a great location for getting to see the rest of portland and surrounding areas. Would recommend
House was VERY CLEAN, spacious and very well equipped. Regarding the property and quality we wanted for nothing in that respect. View from the attic bedroom magnificent, bathroom & shower had lots of space and even an extra toilet room on the same floor was very handy. Kitchen modern & had everything you needed for a week or mores stay.
My partner came with me to make deliveries in and around Poole and Devon. As it was holiday season finding somewhere to stop was proving hard but we found this gem! Although it is near the Quarry there was a coastal walk and beach to walk along. Staff were more than helpful and very friendly, thank you.
I'm staying here while working in Portland and this was the only place I could afford. The room on arrival was clean warm and comfortable if very dated. The parking is great (I have nightmares of driving nearly 300 miles and not being able to park when I don't know the area). The wifi is very good.
The front of the Inn is situated with beautiful views of the The Bill and the sea. We didn't have our evening meal there. Full English breakfast the next day consisted of: - Sausage, Bacon, Beans, has browns and chopped tomatoes with 2 thick slices of toast and butter. (they forgot the eggs).
Mark & Jo was very polite and made me feel very welcome. The hotel was lovely. Breakfast was nice. Would love to stay on my future visits. Best property I have ever stayed in Weymouth/Portland in all the 15 years that I have been going.
Friendly and helpful staff at reception and in the restaurant.
The coffee bar had good views over Fortunes Well and Chesil Beach.
The hotel is conveniently located for public transport and central to tourist sites in Portland.
View from the dining area was fantastic, watching the Sunset was even better. Room was very good, very clean, no problems at all. Breakfast was also very good, plenty to eat. Plenty of parking space. Staff were all very helpful.
Friendly staff. Good size room and bed. Food excellent. Breakfast chef helpful. Unusual building but lovely outlook. Dog friendly and Bruce is lush. A stylish hotel inside.
The location was superb, loved the view over the sea and Portland Bill! Great access to walks and a nearby restaurant. The pub had a good selection of beers available.
