Location and facilities. We are a volleyball team and wanted a large room where girls could stay together. Also large living area and wrap around deck for leisure time. Girls were comfortable here and staff had plenty room too. Full kitchen facilities and dining area were ample. Easy check in and check out process. The location is really close to most attractions in downtown Hilo, so even if you aren't driving, you can still easily Uber to most places from the hostel. It's also only 10 minutes away from the Hilo airport by car. The bus terminal is within walkable distance (about 15-20m) if you are planning to take the bus to the volcanoes national park. The owner and staff are friendly and super helpful. The beds are comfy too. Definitely recommend it if you're travelling on a budget! There are also lockers in the common area - just have to bring your own pad lock.
