Enjoyed the free music in the creek park, but thought the Alaska seafood food truck was very poor.
Enjoyed Mainstreet Tap & Grill. Had great potato skins, beer and wine. Staff was super friendly, had a great time.

My room in August was 83° and NO AIR CONDITIONING, and the temperature outside was only 63° I opened the window, had a fan running around the clock, didn't help. Horrible night sleep. The bed was very hard and sounded like it was going to fall apart when I laid down & I'm not a big person 5'2" and 135lbs. Also right on a major street so I couldn't have the window open at night due to noise.

Soldotna worked well for us because it it @halfway between Seward and Homer and we set up multiple activities in both places. A Mama moose with 2 calves was around the house a few times and we got some great photos. Walking access to nearby Kenai River was as stated with understated local opportunities for trail walking and fishing.

Took a flight with High Adventures to see the bears at Wolverine Creek. Our guide Ben, very knowledgeable and good sense of humor. LOVE this trip.
Nice restaurants in town, very convenient to our hotel.
Buckets for breakfast and Kenai Brewing Co. for great burgers.

Soldotna is a perfect place to stay.
Soldotna is a perfect place to stay. Right on a location that you can go to Kenai, Homer, Seward for fishing or just relaxing. It's a Good middle destination to go out from here. It also isn't that far to Anchorage. The scenery is beautiful with many lakes, mountains and rivers. There is always wildlife around to see if you just look.

We loved Soldotna!
We loved Soldotna! The scenery, the fishing, the atmosphere, the good places to eat! We look forward to going back! We went fishing on the Kenai one day and two days on the Kosilof (?). The limit on the Kenai is 3 fish per day per person while the limit on the Kosilof is 2 pp. Great fishing!
Liked everything from start to finish. The owners were more than gracious. The bedroom was spotless and private. The location to Saldotna and Kenai could not be better. I cannot say enough about the awesome experience from the breakfast to the hosts. I will stay there anytime I am back to the area.
Love the setting here. The cabins are all unique…. impressively designed by the owner Jim who is a great resource on things to do in the area and with an amazing background in and around Alaska. We stayed in the studio and it was the perfect comfortable setting for our holiday.
The bedding and the bathroom were clean and the location in Soldotna was good. Parking was close to our room. The staff were very friendly and accommodating except for the early check-in policy which was presumably beyond their control.
The inside of the hotel was significantly better than the outside. Room was comfortable and spacious. The reception area had a nice lobby and fire. Hotel shares a space with the popular The Catch restaurant.
Arrived early. Staff assisted us by letting us leave luggage at hotel until the room was clean. We were able to check in a little early. Really help us out because we a bit tires from traveling.
Breakfast not applicable. Centralized location between Seward and Homer. Fish camp area and proximity to Kenai River. Furnished outdoor grill area and fire pit with wood provided was great,
