We took in two meals while in Cochrane on the weekend of Nov 25, at Sakura Sushi and Grill and at the Texas Gate - both were wonderful. Cochrane has a young-family active vibe and we were lucky to be there for the annual Cochrane Light Up, where the streets downtown were filled with music and lights, carolers and celebration to kick off the Christmas season. It was a blast!

The town seems like a nice place to live, we liked the historic town and the saloon. There is a good ice cream parlour but it always has a queue, but worth the wait. Lots of restaurants and close enough to other attractions

Cochrane is friendly and has everything you need.

Cochrane is friendly and has everything you need. It is a short ride to Canmore which is also a very beautiful bit expensive experience. The one negative was our car rental “Routes Car Rental” I found and reserved it online under Calgary airport car rentals. I received no follow up reservation number. That should have raised an alert after all they had cashed my visa payment. When we arrived at the airport we went to the area with all the auto booths. They had no booth i only found a phone number and address via the Internet. They were a bus ride away!!! They had i record of my order. I had to spell my name, Smith, five times. They had a substitute car which fine and brand new. But it was was A horrible way to start a vacation.

I love the centre of town it has so much character,if you travel in from Calgary on the 1A as you descend the hill above the town the view of the valley and town is quite something. The Rocky view hotel is a must visit place for those who enjoy great food and drink at value for money prices. So many visitors to the Rockies will rush by on the way to Banff and miss out, on a town that is packed with history.Slow down people its well worth a visit.

We were in Cochrane for a market taking place at Redwood Meadows. We only went to Tim Horton's for coffee and to the nearest gas station. Anyone we spoke with was very friendly and accommodating when asking for directions.

You can be in the Kananaskis area in under an hour.... and in Banff or Canmore in less than 2 hours. Cochrane town itself has a lovely heritage hotel and a there is a lot of western theme places to see. There is also a wolf-dog sanctuary very close by, which you can take a tour of. You can see the Rocky Moutains very well and there are Themed stores to shop in. You are very close to the Trans. Can. Hwy which makes travel very easy.

It is a pretty basic hotel in Cochrane, conveniently located near Hwy 22 as a gateway to Bragg Creek, Kananaskis and the mountains. What impressed us the most is that the front desk staff kindly accommodated our request to switch us from a King room on the second floor to a 2 Queen room on the ground floor. The 2 Queen room was (a) cheaper; (b) almost 2 times larger, and (c) did not require a member of our party who had very bad knees to climb the steep stairs (the hotel has no elevator). Thank you very much!

This a wonderful little gem for someone looking for a nostalgic experience. Sure you won't get all the comforts and amenities of a swanky 5 star hotel, but that isn't the point of this place. It is a living piece of history. The hotel has been preserved and restored to give you that early 1900's feel. The staff are very friendly, and the restaurant/bar offer some great food at affordable prices. My only regret is that we only stayed 1 night. We would definitely stay there again.

This little suite is adorable and very comfortable and clean. Elena, the host, is friendly and warm. We booked in Cochrane rather than Calgary to attend a weekend workshop in Springbank, and the drive was short and scenic. We opted out of breakfast at the suite, but there was a lovely bowl of fresh fruit waiting for us, along with tea and coffee, a nice French Press, and a microwave and apartment sized fridge. A nice touch in the bathroom was the host-family's homemade soaps.

The staff are always very accommodating. I am handicapped and am not able to walk which means I have to be near the elevator. Therefore we always Iike to be on the 4th floor facing west so I can look at the mountains and watch people and animals on the path . The staff have been so accommodating with this. The breakfasts are very good with a great selection . Wonderful place to stay. When in Cochrane, this is where we stay.

Spacious suite, perfect for families or for friends/coworkers traveling together. The full kitchen is equipped with dishes, pans, etc. Parking is right at the door of your room. Very friendly welcome upon arrival, and the property was not difficult to find. Breakfast was not included with the room, but Cochrane's downtown is just a few minutes away and offers excellent breakfast options.

I found the desk clerks to be friendly and efficient. Very nicely decorated front lobby and the hotel was very clean and welcoming. My favourite part though I have to admit were the fresh baked oatmeal raisin cookies individually wrapped in the lobby.. very nice touch!

It is an older building and we were there during Canada Day celebrations which were being held just across the parking lot. That made accessing our room a little difficult at times. Beds were very comfortable and linens were quite nice

The best stay at a Days Inn I've ever stayed at! The staff were exceptional, beds were very comfy, and the room was clean (appreciated the wood floors). The complimentary breakfast was great and the free cup ramens were a nice touch!

Beautiful park-like setting. Walking distance to restaurant. So nice to be in a hotel that isn’t in a creepy neighborhood or next to major highway. Breakfast was wonderful. Best stay of our trip.
