We were getting on a cruise and wanted to unwind ahead of it and get over jet lag (we were travelling from Australia). We stayed on the other end from downtown and the terminal. We had great access to the beach and the restaurants around here were great. Lots of little, what appeared to be mostly family owned. The neighbourhood was just that - a neighbourhood. Felt safe and lots of friendly people around. We did spend some time up near the cruise terminal with family who booked in a large well known hotel. It was way more sterile without the great restaurants and shops and certainly didn’t feel like a neighbourhood.MichaelAustralia - 10Scored 10

If you stayed in Belmont Shore in the last couple years...
If you stayed in Belmont Shore in the last couple years there was decline in the area. Belmont is back, new restaurants and shops have opened. Much less homeless, more police and security. I felt totally comfortable on the latest trip.Crumm - 10Scored 10

Breakfast is included, but it is just okay. Hotel is relatively new but the carpet in some areas is badly stained and does not give me confidence in the cleanliness of the hotel. Room had a musty smell. There is no housekeeping, unless you request in advance. Linens and bathroom seemed clean though.

The history, decor and atmosphere was wonderful but not in any way stuffy! The room...we upgraded... was of it's time! The wifi was good!! The room was clean and comfy. The shower was surprisingly hot and powerful and the towels soft and fluffy.
