The birthplace of Picasso is as colorful as an artists palette, from the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea to the golden sun, which gives 300 days of sunshine per year. When the sun sets, the vibrant nightlife awakens and youll find your place among the youthful square of the old center, the trendy bars of La Malagueta or on one of the terraces of Pedregalejo.
There's also rich history underneath the sun and fun. Alcazaba is a Moorish castle from the 11th century and just next to it are the remnants of a Roman Theatre. The white stone tower of the Malaga Cathedral rises up in the heart of the city centre, and offers an interesting respite from sun bathing on the magnificent and popular beaches.
A more modern history can be appreciated by visiting the birthplace of Picasso and a museum full of exhibitions by Malaga 's most famous resident. A more relaxed Spanish city than Madrid and Barcelona, Malaga is still the gateway to the Costa del Sol and the busy Malaga Airport is only 6 miles from the center of town.
From budget hostels to 5-star luxury hotels, with Booking.com you're sure to find the perfect place to stay for your sunny vacation.

Very difficult to recognise train stops ( remember: 4 stops to the centre)Hugely commercial & touristic, nothing authentic remains. This is reflected in outlets for dining- overpriced and sloppy.difference with Granada very obvious- would prefer Granada for more authentic experience
However, went to see the Easter week processions - amazing

A bustling working town easy for travelling to other parts...
A bustling working town easy for travelling to other parts of Andalusia. The Picasso museum is a must-see (but book your tickets in advance.) "Old town" is o.k. but not as charming as others in Andalusia. The promenade along the beach is nice and has a local residential feel and not commercialized. The climb up to the Castillo Galfaro is steep but the view is rewarding. Wonderful well-priced seafood restaurants along the promenade that feature open grills. Pleasant people as in all of Spain.

It was a busy time so accommodation was expensive.
It was a busy time so accommodation was expensive. It’s a great place with lots to do: Museums, good restaurants, beach port. People are friendly too. The Easter processions were very interesting but be aware that while they are on it is difficult to get around as so many people at them and some roads closed

Malaga is a great city with so much to do in it.
Malaga is a great city with so much to do in it. Hiring a bicycle is a must as the city is geared up for cyclists, and you could easily cycle to Torremolinos in less than 90 minutes (at a very leisurely pace). Going the other way out of Malaga is all along a purpose built cycle way, so very safe and easy to use.

Malaga is a great city almost everything is on your doorstep, restaurants bars theaters and the beach.
We have been to Malaga many times and have made friends.
It's very easy to get around on foot or by bus to other towns, buses are cheap. You can also hail a taxi which is great.
We have favorite bars Cafe brusselas in Plaza de la Merced Pepes' opposite, La Peregrina. the food and drinks are all reasonably priced.
A little further out towards the beach is El refectorium Malagueta fantastic ambience and good food.

Great city.
Great city. Port and Old town were lovely and plenty of reasonably priced very good food options. Great to have a beach nearby too. Loads of shopping too. Very clean and safe at nice. Highly recommend Malaga
Modern boutique like hotel located a few minutes walk from Alameda central station so excellent hotel if arriving by train.
About 15/20 minutes walk to old town.
Room clean and all amenities provided if anything forgotten eg razor, toothbrush, shoe shine.
Excellent breakfast was continental with good variety.
Staff pleasant and friendly. Usually someone on reception who spoke English if necessary.
There was no bar but an area to the side of reception where you could sit if waiting for a friend.
I thoroughly recommend.
The hotel is in a great location on the edge of the old town with lots of bars, restaurants, and shops nearby. It is close to the main tourist sites and a short (15 minute) walk to the beach. The Malaga Maria-Zambrano train station is a 15-20 minute walk away, making the location convenient for arrival/departure and day trips.
The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-equipped. The staff were helpful and were able to pre-book an airport taxi for us for our early morning flight home.
The hotel is central to the shopping and old town of Malaga, 10 minutes from railway station and 20 minutes from airport, both by taxi. The reception, bar and restaurant staff were wonderful, with a special treat waiting in our room when we got back to it at night. I think the room we had may have been an upgrade as it was on the Essence floor (5) and the room was one of the best we have stayed in. Probably exaggerating a little but the bed was as big as a football pitch.
The hotel was ideally located for exploring Malaga's old town. The rooftop bar was open until 01:00, which was great as we were able to get a drink and a first view of the city even though we arrived on a late flight after midnight. There was also a sundeck and small pool on the roof where we could relax after a day's sightseeing. The breakfast was good with plenty of choices. There was a wide variety of restaurants and bars in easy reach for the evenings.
Great hotel near the Malaga Alameda Centro train station (~20 min train to the airport). We arrived very early, around 11 AM, instead of the standard check-in time - 2 PM, but they gave us a room. The room had enough space for 2 people and had a big bathroom. The WiFi signal was great (we stayed on the 7th floor). Breakfast was great - different types of meats, fruits, drinks, etc. It is only a 15 - 20 mins walk to the beach!
Lovely modern hotel in the heart of Malaga. Amazing location, 5-10 mins walking distance to the beach and the old town, near to lots restaurants, bars etc. supermarket at the end of the road. Very clean, modern hotel with friendly staff. Rooftop bar is worth a visit. Breakfast was ok, good variety of food but same food everyday. On a street with restaurant and bars but very quiet, not noisy.
Wonderful location in heart of shopping district. Very safe pick for 21 yo woman traveling alone. Easy to find hotel via taxi from airport. Easy check-in/out. Lovely breakfast. Room was spacious, quiet - excellent bedding. Have stayed in Malaga before - closer to beach at B&B - this was a nice change to be so close to restaurants and activity. Incredibly walkable to everything.
I have used this hotel a couple different times when I have to fly out of Malaga. Usually my flights are always at 6 AM in the morning in this hotel is a
perfect distance to the Airport. The staff is always friendly when checking in and throughout my visit.
They're kind enough to print boarding passes at no charge. The rooms you're always clean and I feel safe on the hotel grounds.
The staff and manager were very helpful. The manager provided much information to us on what to see and do! Great location, quiet. Driving from the airport is challenging due to confusing roundabouts, but google maps did locate the parking lot accurately. The walk from parking to the hotel was not difficult. We will stay here again the next time we visit Malaga!
Great hotel in a central location just next to the port of Malaga. Wonderfully warm welcome, and rooms were extremely comfortable. Fantastic rooftop terrace serving delicious cocktails. Considering the locality, it was really quiet at night. We could easily walk into the old town, shops and to many bars and restaurants from the hotel. Highly recommended
The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The location is close to the beach and about 15-20 minute walk to the old town. Room and beds were well equipped and comfortable and the entire hotel property was quite lovely. Breakfast was extensive and delicious. We really enjoyed every minute of our stay here and can’t wait to come back again.
The location was excellent right in the middle of Malaga and perfect to visit the old town for sightseeing and great selection of bars and rewstaurants and the new modern Malaga for shopping.
The staff were very pleasant and so helpful. A very good selection for breakfast.
This was our third visit to Le Petite Palace Hotel.
My recent one-night stay at Campanile Malaga Airport was satisfactory. The room was comfortable, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel's proximity to a shopping mall, just a 5-minute walk away, was a convenient bonus. While it met my basic needs, it didn't offer any particularly exceptional features.
Location was great. Just a short walk to the old town and a little supermarket round the corner. We were delayed by a flat tyre so only had a day to enjoy Malaga, but managed to see plenty and enjoy the food and wine! Irene arranged our taxi to the airport. Hopefully we'll be back soon.
Perfect location to visit old town and the port. Breakfast heavenly on 7th floor with spectacular views. Pool and bar on roof terrace a plus. Staff lovely and helpful. Very comfortable room. Surely one of the nicest hotels in Malaga. If not the nicest.
The hotel is in an excellent location. just a few minutes walk to the heart of the old town and only 5 minutes walk to the train station for Malaga airport (a 12 minute train ride!). All the staff were welcoming and helpful. a great stay!
- very close to the train station where the train from airport stops (10mins to airport) - you can see it from the hotel
- like 20 mins to the old town and 30 mins to the beach (walking)
- nice, new and tidy
- working AC and elevator
The hotel is well located for all Malaga has to offer. On the doorstep of the old town and just a short stroll to the marina and onto the beach. The facilities are good although a shame the rooftop bar wasn’t open.
Wonderful hotel with good location: 10 minutes to the old town and 10 minutes to the beach. Comfortable and clean room, good spa with a nice big pool. Delicious breakfast. Very polite staff.
