It's not a tourist haven, but I went for health care so I was not a tourist. The train station has a lot of stairs and no services -- not even posted train schedules, personnel, or ticket office.
Gigi's L'Angolo della Pizza is honest and you can sit outdoors.
The Dulcinea Bar near the train station as well as Tiziana's beauty parlor next door are both great.
Summer bus service is one every hour for the number 4 to Prato, more frequent perhaps twice an hour for the Number 2 to Florence.
Nice herb shop on Via Roma in the center and great ice cream mamma papa shop on the main central street.
The breakfast was quite basic, with few items, compared to other "Italian breakfasts" that we had at other accommodations on our trip. The price for the 2 nights was a great value, so that made up for having spent more on lunch. The location was rather remote (it took us about 45 minutes to drive to Florence), but our GPS had no trouble finding it. The views from the property were beautiful, as were the olive groves and the surrounding landscape.
This place offers all you need for a short stay. The greatest advantages are: the hosts, who were very friendly and always willing to help, the location, just five minutes away from the railway station in Calenzano, where you can get on a train to Firenze, and a quiet space at the back of the house, where you can leave your car, and also enjoy a drink in the evening :)
The location of the hotel is so convenient, we just drove there straight from the highway. The lady at the reception was so helpful, she directed us to the closest restaurant where we had dinner even though it was 11pm. The room was super cozy and comfortable equipped with everything you need.
Our boat from Corsica arrived with massive delay and had to find a place to stay last minute, the 24h reception was a blessing.
It's a roadside hotel, for that it's a great one. Spacious rooms, fairly quiet, air conditioning, comfy beds. The breakfast buffet was plenty and pretty good.
We were a couple and a family together on holiday and L'Alberocasa went out of their way to make it a comfortable stay. We were in easy reach of Florence and had fantastic day trips - all on the recommendation of the very friendly Angela. She even made dinner reservations for us.
The host was so nice and helped us with everything we needed and the location has private parking. The location is close to some great restaurants and you have fast access to Florence. The building is an old & beautiful one, but the room is modern, which is amazing.
in general it is a good big hotel, in industrial area. has parking place, we traveled by car, so was important. normal breakfast. beds and pilows are hard. Personal is very polite, man in reception was very helpful and polite! recomended place to have dinner.
Beautiful place in the hills not far from Florence, in the countryside (= not easy to find without gps..). It is a agricultural place, the food for the dinner table was all from their own production. Very welcoming and friendly people. Can only recommend it.
The bathroom was very clean and well-equipped. The breakfast was lovely, with a good choice of food. The staff were friendly too. The location was great as it was close enough to Florence, but not in the expensive tourist area.
Location was good, the front desk staff was efficient and very friendly. We liked the free parking. In the room each bedside had power outlet for cell phone charger. The bed was comfortable. This is a dog friendly hotel.
The hotel is located in the industrial area in Florence so it's not the most picturesque but was perfect for us given we had some commitments in the area. The hotel itself is certainly very clean and has great facilities.
