Grassina is a charming village located 20 minutes by car or a short train/bus ride outside of Florence. Strolling through its quaint little streets with cafes, restaurants, and shops offers you a glimpse into daily life. The proximity to Florence makes it an ideal base for those who want to explore the cultural richness of the city while enjoying the tranquility of village life.
The village boasts a selection of cozy cafes that offer a true taste of Italian coffee culture. One standout is Pasticceria Cappelli Firenze, situated in the town center. The rich aroma of espresso wafts through the air as locals gather for their daily dose of caffeine. The welcoming ambiance and friendly baristas make it a perfect spot to start the day.
For those looking to immerse themselves in local flavors or simply stock up on essentials, Grassina offers several well-stocked grocery stores. The Conad Superstore, conveniently located in the town center, is a one-stop shop for fresh produce, local cheeses, and Tuscan wines. It's a treasure trove for those eager to experience the authentic tastes of the region.
Grassina is a hidden gem nestled amidst the rolling hills and vineyards in the heart of Tuscany captures the essence of the Italian countryside.

Since it is very close to Firenze, it would be practi al to stay here if you are travelling by ca. Because cars are not permitted into the old city of Firenze. The best in deed to visit the old town is to park your car at the citadel Piazzale Michelangelo and walk 20 min. to the center.
It was an absolutely magical place to stay. Out of the busyness of Florence and yet an easy public transport bus from grassina if you're happy to walk 15 minutes, or a 20 minute car journey if you prefer. This place was paradise, and the owners were excellent. I will return here again and I'd like to thank the staff for everything they did, I do not have a single complaint to make. It was picturesque, well run, clean and great value for money. Our day at the pool was a highlight
Everything! The apartment is absolutely stunning and in very scenic grounds. The pool is beautiful and overlooks the fields around. Would recommend a car as the property is about a 15 minute drive from Florence but also meant we could explore the local area. Bianca was a fabulous host- she was very friendly and helpful providing us with local recommendations of places to visit/restaurants. The little village of Grassina also had lovely bakeries and restaurants.
Very comfortable and spacious accomodation, excellent aircon and really comfortable. The hosts are very welcoming and were always on hand.
The pool is a really good size so you can actually swim rather than just bob around in it and then view is typically charming Tuscan countryside.
Proximity to Grassina is only a really short drive and the village itself is genuinely Italian with good places to eat and have a coffee.
This is not a hotel! Irs a room where you Ger things for the breakfast that you can arrange in the kitchen by yourself. The kitchen is used by all parties that stay here. There is a restaurant neraby (quite nice) Bit that dies bot belong to the premise. Also there is a winery in the same building, where we recomment to arrange for a tasting with dinner in the old kitchen!
Staff were lovely and room were clean and spacious. A bit old fashioned but very peaceful! Not a whole lot going on in Grassina. You would definitely need a car, but we did get the bus into Florence from the town (only €1.50 each way) one of the days, you just need to plan your return trip. Pool area nice to relax by.
Beautiful restored buildings, clean, good facilities. Short hilly walk into grassina with restaurants etc.
Perfect for those who want a self catered stay in this fantastic location.
Close 30 drive to Florence airport, many excellent surrounding hills , towns.
Peaceful location in stunning Tuscan countryside. Access to a pool. Access to Florence (20min walk + 25min bus journey). Fantastic traditional trattoria in Grassina.
