Epic location with fantastic Tuscan views overlooking the hills. Around 25 min drive from the beach. Pietro was very friendly, made us breakfast to take to our room/terrace. The location was perfect, the staff were so warm and friendly. They actually went over and beyond to help us when we got lost on the way. The breakfast was superb. I would recommend this to all my friends. I loved the warm charming feeling inside.

This was a great find, better than we could have hoped for! The breakfast buffet was exceptional, great variety, fresh, and plenty full! The host could not do enough for you, even served the cappuccino, with a smile!! The host, Luca, even prepared maps with highlights to see! We enjoyed the stay we added a few extra days.

The Antica Badia is a 5-minute walk from the center of Volterra, close to a bus stop. It features a garden with sun terrace. Outdoor parking and Wi-Fi are free.

A beautiful old villa below the walls of the city, recently renovated into a nice small hotel. Grand old rooms with high ceilings, wrought iron fixtures, indoor or outdoor breakfast. (All vegan, including fine pastries.) A short steep walk up stairs and paths to the “Porta all’Arco” gate to the city. Trees and singing birds all around the villa and all along the path up to the city wall gate. And Volterra is wonderful - fascinating Etruscan history, and not as crowded with tourists as Florence or San Gimigniano. And you can easily see all of Volterra on foot. We wished we had booked more time here.
