A resort but also a real Italian town all the more noticeable in early October with smaller number of visitors. The old village of Castellabate with amazing labyrinth of alleyways and views is a must visit. We recommend the 3 hour walk around the coast to Ogliastro and bus return…superb views and swim in deserted rocky cove at lunchtime.

Typical Cilento town with clear waters, small marina, historic buildings, church, good restaurants, long walking "lungomare", restaurants on the beach. The Borgo of Castellabate on the hill is spectacular, is considered one of the most beautiful "borgo"s of Italy and offers fantastic views over the coast and the interior. Very friendly and welcoming people.

Fantastic old hotel with history from the 1.600 a c. Large surrondings, gardens, pool and free sunbeds at the beach. Large bedrooms. No fitness room, tennis court or restaurant for dinner.
In overall a good place to relax in a quiet enviroment.
The only negative is the price.
The price is too high compeard with other hotels

Castellabate is a quaint small town.
Castellabate is a quaint small town. Seems very quiet but so beautiful. I would have preferred to stay a couple more days to really be able to get a better feel for southern Italy.
The Hotel was actually remarkable for the price. We were upgraded because it was not peak season in late October.

Charming old town with romantic streets and squares and very delicios food. The main street is pedestrian and perfect for evening walks. Don't miss La Scogliera Ristorante and Il Gelatiere Gelateria.

Good fish restaurants along the sea front.
Good fish restaurants along the sea front. We particularly liked La Scogliera in the quieter area furthest away from the main beach. Also Ristorante I due Fratelli which was more upmarket but a very short walk from Residence Serrone.
A good base to explore the coast and the mountains.

Breakfast was good for people who loves sweets and pastries ( Italian style) . They offered us “American breakfast” ( eggs, beicon etc ) however was only available after 9am. Food and service was very good.
Important to know that this hotel does not have private beach “ lido” . They do recommend a private beach very near by and they offered a shuttle to the beach complimentary, however you have pay €25 extra for one umbrella and 2 beach chairs. The service and food at the Lido was very nice.
We had an amazing two days stay in this historic hotel. The veiw from our room was beautiful and the open fire was comforting while a winter storm raged outside. Being the only guests staying in this rambling palace felt surreal. We used it as a base to see Paestum ruins (only 25 mins away). The owner Francesca was warm and welcoming .. would recommend this beautiful venue to anyone. We hope to return one day and see it in the sunshine.
The location is more than perfect - directly on the beach, right upon the daily beach bar. The hosts took care of us with so much kindness and hospitality that we felt at home. Delicios croissants&coffee&food, pleasant coolness in the bedrooms, comfortable beds, warm sea, fine sand, shallow waters, wonderful sunset views from the terrace, everything needed for total relax.
The house and the room were great. Very tidy and neat. We felt very welcome and the communication was easy. The breakfast was also very enjoyable. The house is located right on main street with restaurants very close by. Parking was arranged at a supervised parking lot within walking distance for a very reasonable price.
The whole place is very clean and very well looked after. The staff were friendly, attentive and welcoming. The location is beautiful but a bit away from the town below. I walked to the beach every day but the access is down/up a very steep road which was fine for me but it might not suit all. Id love to go back!
The hotel was modern and well maintained. The rooms were spacious, and had an ocean view balcony. We watched beautiful sunsets every night, and enjoyed the beach every day. Breakfast was wonderful. We also had dinner at the hotel most evenings.
The location was fantastic!
Great location in the main street and really close to beach and restaurants. Extremely helpful and friendly staff- we had diffculty using washer machine and garage door and both times they came quickly to help us. Room had besutiful private balcony
The hosts were so lovely. The house has been in the family and they’ll tell you all about it. plus there are cute ducks on sight, great group hangout areas in the gardens and close to everything, the beach, food and grocery. Everything was perfect!
Owner was really nice and made sure we had everything we need. Room is spacy and bed is really comfortable. Beach is just across the road and you get a free umbrealla and chairs from the house! :)
Beautiful new modern apartment. Clean and well equipped for self catering. Ideally located for bus, beach, shops and restaurants. All within a few minutes walk in a very safe area.
Unbeatable location on the beachfront. Spacious apartment. Very comfortable beds and a modern bathroom. Outstanding staff (thanks Carlo!) Very good daily housekeeping
Location was perfect. The property was so modern and clean. Such a nice touch to include refreshments! A perfect place to stay to visit this beautiful part of Italy.
