We made our own breakfasts. The hosts were very kind and helpful. The location is very close to the world-leading Birds of Eden, and equally close to the excellent Monkeyland. Conveniently close to the beautiful Nature's Valley, the magnificent Grootrivier Pass and the equally magnificent Western Cape portion of the Bloukrans River Pass. And not too far from Big Animal conservancy Jukani.
Nestled among a forest in The Crags, Forest Nature Spa is located close to attractions such as Birds of Eden, Monkeyland and Tenikwa Wildlife Center.

This place was so nice. It is a big luxurious house with an amazing view. They have a very friendly worker who comes in the night to put the fire. Breakfast was very good. I can't recommend this place enough, come early enough to enjoy the place!!

I would describe this place as a "back packers" stay. While the wonderful owner, in his thirties, is doing a good job to create an eco encampment on the edge of a beautiful gorge, it's a place recommended for those under about 45. The focus is on a place to gather and sometimes party for locals as well as travelers. Benny is well loved by the local villagers. If you are very fortunate, he will take you into the native village for a once in a life time experience. There is a new swimming pool.
A beautiful region, with excellent restaurants. The Grootrivier and (Western Cape part of) the Bloukrans River passes are exceptional, as is Nature's Valley.
The Birds of Eden is THE world leading bird conservancy -- the biggest anywhere with free flying birds in a magnificent forest with a beautiful kloof, waterfall ,,, The nearby Monkeyland and Jukani conservancies are also probably the best in Africa.
Thyme & Again restaurant is also a favourite.

This is definitely not a family holiday spot!
This is definitely not a family holiday spot! It could, at best, be a backpackers lodge. The water in the bathrooms was brownish, and although there were assurances that it was healthy, we were sceptical. The rooms were tiny and barely furnished. The kitchen is communal and almost 100 meters away from the rooms - very inconvenient for those rainy days! What about the toilet and bathroom outside the rooms! We had surely booked the wrong place, and stayed only for one night out of four.

Its a wonderful place to stay, especially since it is 18kms from Plettenberg Bay, so its more serene than Plett over the height of summer. There is a lot to do in the vicinity. We loved our visits to the elephant sanctuary (an absolute must-do), the wolf sanctuary, Birds of Eden, Tenikwa (wildlife rehabilitation), Jukani (wildlife sanctuary, especially for Big Cats) and Monkeyland. There's a super water park (Adventureland) about 19kms away, with fabulous waterslides.
We made the mistake of not booking restaurants for dinner in advance. Over late December / early January most places were fully booked, which really limited our options and we spent a lot of time calling around, which we could have avoided. I would scout the restaurants and book well in advance next time.

Animal sanctuaries are awesome and accommodation peaceful...
Animal sanctuaries are awesome and accommodation peaceful with beautiful views but restuarants are very limited especially durin the month of May when they shut down. If I did it again I would probably either pack food or stay in Plettenburg bay and travel through to the Crags for a day visit to the sanctuaries.
The stay at Four Fields Farm was a better experience then I have had at many five star hotels. The attention to detail was outstanding. The fresh flowers In the room along with lavender on the bed with some chocolates. The staff were outstanding. I would definitely recommend Four fields Farm. It is a very peaceful and wonderful experience. The surrounding areas have a lot to offer for things to do. On the farm there are walks you can go on an many other things to see with the beautiful wildlife.
We found everything we might need in the cottage like plates, pots, pans, pillows, blankets, etc. The cottage itself is a modest place with 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, a nice view, a parking space in the garage. The hosts are such a friendly and lovely couple.
The host made us very delicious breakfast and brought it early as we asked the previous night.
We enjoyed our stay a lot, it definitely was a good value for money, quite close to Nature's Valley. There's also a supermarket nearby.
One of the best places we ever stayed during our travels! Beautifully decorated, so many details! As if you are walking though a vintage shop. Very tranquil with the views and all the animals walking around. They all love to cuddle! The owners are very friendly and prepare amazing food every night served in the lovely restaurant. We ended up eating there every night.
Location wise ideal to explore the Plettenberg bay area without staying in the busy areas.
Breakfast was great, well presented & variety. Wonderful views from boma deck. Room was lovely design with African art and textiles. Very family-friendly, they provided cot with teddies and milk and cookies at bedtime for our toddler. It has a bath (as well as shower) which was much appreciated for little ones. Staff were lovely, friendly and accommodating. Fun to have monkeys visiting our balcony. Easy access to Plettenberg Bay if you have a car.
This was a magical place to spend time on our South Africa vacation. The Villa is outstanding with the lovely rooms, resident animals/friends who gave us lots of cuddles, fabulous food and the host are very caring. I felt like I was wrapped in a warm blanket of care. Scrumptious breakfasts and phenomenal dinners. I cannot recommend this place enough! Luckily we spent three nights here but would have loved to spend even more time.
This hotel was amazing! Set in the middle of a forest. Beautiful outdoor space. Rooms were gorgeous. Staff were lovely. We especially loved talking to Wonderful. Such an interesting man and he made our stay so welcome and interesting. Evening meal was good. Limited menu and you booked in advance. We would highly recommend a night or two here. Loved it! It was our favourite accommodation in South Africa.
Uber-family friendly, your kids can run around and have fun, go to play area or swim in the pool or simply play in the cottage garden. Very convenient location, close to Natures Valley, Plett but also away enough from holiday crowd. Incredible nature and surrounds. Lovely hosts. I miss this place already. We came with our 10 and 3 years old and we all had so much rest and fun. We will be back!

We stayed for a view days at 20 good summers and it was terrific.
Very clean and spacious room with a large, comfortable bed. Well decorated and beautiful art.
Fast laundry service as well.
Surrounded by nature and nearby great hike trails and beach. Hosts gave us a warm welcome and everything we needed. The farm stay is totally off the grid, so no loadshedding. Really recommend it!
This was our favorite of the places we stayed in South Africa, and we hope to go back some day. The proprietors are warm, welcoming, and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful, but you should definitely plan to eat dinner here during your stay- they were some of the best of the trip.
Everything was perfect, this was the most special place we stayed at in South Africa. The location is magical, rooms are clean and big, food was great (breakfast and dinner) and beyond all the staff was kind and generous unlike any other place. This is a must for couples.
We were served a lovely healthy breakfast on the patio. The location was close to Plettenberg Bay and all the attractions like Birds of Eden and the Snake park were very close. Loved the peace and quite and beautiful garden and dam.
Gorgeous boutique hotel a short drive from Plettenberg. The staff is incredibly kind and thinks of everything. The food is fantastic. Amazing views from anywhere on the property. We did not want to leave!
An unbelievable place that really puts you in the middle of the forest and the nature! The staff was very welcoming and the whole hotel and spa buildings are just a beautiful work of art.
