We didn't stay long enough to be able to give a decent review of Calais, just 48 hours. We did really enjoy it and will happily return. There were a large selection of restaurants to choose from, some large, slightly out of town hypermarches, and some boulangeries that we enjoyed. We enjoyed Le Bleriot Beach, even in February. We visited Dunkirk and even crossed the border into De Panne in Belgium. We discovered that Calais is most definitely a place to visit in its own right, not just for a night before a ferry or a tunnel crossing.

Calais as been revamped, and a lot of money spent on the beach area. Good restaurants!! Especially one called the MOUTON BLANC!! Simple French cooking and cheap. This place could be a great family holiday. Great beaches and nice walks to do. Your not that far from Paris or Brussels with easy access to trains that Serve both capitals. Yes overall good place.

Calais is seen by many as just a convenient stopover to take the ferry and not as a destination in its own right. It may not have aesthetic attraction of nearby Boulogne sur Mer but there are things to see and do. Take a wander and see the stunning Calais Town Hall and tower . There is the famous Rodin sculpture The Burghers of Calais which is very impressive and the shopping , there is quite a good choice for restaurants and bars. Plus, very underrated is the sandy beach.

Usually travel through Calais but we were pleasantly surprised at finding some really interesting older places around the centre. We found a really lovely little family restaurant that was full of locals. Excellent food and service at a reasonable price with a great atmosphere. Certainly gave us an insight into Calais which was very favourable.

Calais is often overlooked as a destination, and used as a gateway to France. In fact the beaches are really good and the old City is well worth a visit, with historic buildings and good cafés and restaurants.

The staf f was friendly. They have a possibility to help you with parking. But if you want to use a free parking, you should use at the City Hall Square.
The room is good en comfortable. It has a nice style of decoration. You like to watch TV. It is also possible, they have Netflix en Prime access. The hotel is situated 5 min walking to the centre. Our breakfast was also good. Whatever you want. Lekker.
The staff and the location rates the highest. The receptionist were all helpful and kind. The cleaning crew found and returned my wife’s earrings as soon as they found them which is always a good sign that the cleaning staff are honest. Location was super close to great beach area and right next to bar/restaurant where the workers there were awesome and inviting. Breakfast at hotel was small but okay.
This was a return visit as we had enjoyed staying here last year. Simple but perfectly adequate ensuite room with a comfortable bed. Car parking space immediately outside so extremely convenient. Friendly, helpful reception staff. A traditional French seaside hotel ambience. Large and very popular restaurant with a good menu. Located right on Calais Plage with fabulous views of a dramatic sunset.
Our room was comfortable and the recently refurbished bathroom was a nice surprise. We enjoyed the internal charm of this hotel which was well located to walk around central Calais. We found a good number of options in the town for an evening meal and, above all, the hotel is just a few minutes drive from the Car Ferry Port. As a result, our trip home was easy and relaxed.
This apartment is in a strange neighbourhood but not far from the centre of Calais, very conveniently located in order to board Le Shuttle. There is a private car park underneath and access to a pool. The apartment is spacious and the beds are comfortable. There is a separate living room with kitchen facilities. Nice to relax after a long journey. Lots of shops nearby.
It was great to see the same receptionist again. We've used this hotel many times as it's so convenient for Eurotunnel, McDonalds and a superb boulangerie just a couple of minutes walk away. The rooms are spotless and the bathrooms more than adequate. My husband always enjoys being able to watch BBC telly! The car park is great. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Calais.
This is a stunning hotel right in the centre of Calais. The rooms are beautifully decorated and themed on aspects of Calais' history. Laurent and Nathalie are exceptional hosts; they run the hotel with pride and commitment. We had a medical issue whilst we were staying with them and they were extremely helpful and supportive.
We will definately be returning!
This hotel in Calais was sufficient for our needs and we managed to park opposite. The room was spacious, carpeted and very comfortable with a fridge and tea making facility which is unusual in France. There were several restaurants to choose from in the modern precinct area. It was a only a short drive to the Channel Tunnel around the outskirts of Calais.
The Hotel was near to the city center and to the ferry. The road was quiet enough to sleep with open window.
The room was not extremely clean but also not so dirty that one wants to complain. Its the cheapest accomodation in Calais, so thats a plus. The rooms are accordingly small, but thats ok. The bed was comfortable.
Incredibly kind and welcoming hosts. Close to food and ground transportation. Most appetizing breakfast we recalled having at any B&B or hotel. We loved the friendly house cats, though that part is not for everyone. We enjoyed our sweet feline visitors. Plus our people hosts went above and beyond.
The setting was very quiet and peaceful within striking distance of the shops, beach and station in Calais. The breakfast was varied and fresh in a beautiful large dining room. I liked the antique furniture scattered around the hotel. There was also a safe underground garage for parking.
We had a warm welcome from our host and the property was clean and characterful. Our host was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Calais. We were pleasantly surprised by the architecture and history of Calais.
Breakfast was ample and delicious.
I have stayed here before and, again, this was a good experience. The hotel is well located, a short drive from the ferry terminal, so is great for late arrivals or early departures to/from Calais. Breakfast was very good.
