very small town that doesn't appear to have any kind of local shop BUT it is a great base for a relaxing trip away from it all. If you plan to see the countryside and do some walking it is perfect. Its also easy to drive to Rouen and the various Normandy tourist attractions from Connelles.
Delightful hotel, handsome example of mid C19th Deauville Normandie architecture in a fine setting by the Seine, Friendly, welcoming, helpful proprietor and staff. This is everything a hotel should be - run by people who care about their hotel and their guests and make sure everything runs smoothly. A nice change from the impersonal atmosphere of big hotel chains. We loved our room and enjoyed fine dinners and great breakfasts.
We are looking forward to our next visit.
If there is an award for Hotelier of the year they would surely win it hands down. The staff were outstanding in every way. Nothing was too much trouble from special dinner requests to helpful directions to supermarkets. The beds were super comfy and if we had known they take pets we would have taken ours. The location is so quiet and peaceful, the views tranquil. All in all a fantastic experience.
Lovely host who gave the best tips to visit in the surroundings and on the best road to Giverny.
Beautiful setting, you can enjoy amazing views of the Seine from every angle, you can walk in the forest, or relax by the water. From the restaurant, you are overlooking the Seine. You feel like bourgeoisie in a 19th century villa. Ask the host to tell the story of the hotel.
The location of the hotel is excellent against the Seine river with wonderful views from our terrace, close parking and facilities we didn't expect. Spotting European Beavers in the river in front of us was an unexpected joy. Proximity to Giverney was very good, as was the ability to drop into Vernon for all of our catering needs.
The hotel is off the beaten path because it's located right on the river s/e of Rouen. It's quiet and charming but there is no elevator so beware if you struggle with stairs. We left too early for breakfast, but dinner at the restaurant was excellent.
Super staff - thank you. Building is beautiful but tired and in need of maintenance both outside and in. Upstairs corridors more like a boarding school than upmarket hotel. We had a comfotable night, the bed was excellent.
Beautiful treasure along the Seine. This hotel in the heart of Normandy is authentic, welcoming and has beautiful balance between antique and modern convenience.
