La Bresse is a picturesque small French town with all the facilities you would expect (supermarket, bakeries, butchers, swimming pool etc.). The ski area is a c. 10 minute drive from La Bresse. There is a ski bus to and from the town but we did not use it and did not see others using it, but were assured that it did exist! The ski area is perfect for beginners and early intermediates looking to build confidence. More experienced skiers would probably be frustrated by the limited area (only one black run). Its low altitude means lots of very attractive tree lined pistes. Also floodlit evening skiing is available (additional lift pass required).

The area is amazing!
The area is amazing! The region is beautiful with lakes and mountains, with hiking options for all levels of fitness. There are also trails for road and mountain bike. In winter there are several ski slopes. The food is very good and the local cheeses are delicious.

We were skiing at La Bresse-Hohneck (great for beginner / undemanding skiing and very little queuing even in February half term) and it was approx. 15 minute drive to the main ski lifts. Room was oké, clean, beds were made and there were towels. But at 6 AM there was sooooooo much noise, like people getting up the stairs with skiboots for more than 15 minutes… Breakfast was oké, loved the croissants!

It is thought well for the families with kids. There are many books and games. The location is very good, not far from the ski slopes. There is a small river passing by. We will definetely come back.
