The old part of Mons en Baroeul is very nice with some old stylish looking houses. There are some good food shops if needed. The fort de Mons en Baroeul is full of history and style. There is also a pleasant swimming pool and some very pretty walks nearby. You can even walk to Lille. It does not take very long at all.

The hotel can even be reached on foot from the railway station. There are 2 supermarkets near the hotel. Nothing bad happened, this is not an industrial zone as they wrote in the reviews. Nice private sector. For this kind of money I was happy with our choice.

There two supermarket next dooor but completely hidden by a hegde of conifers up the path immediately onto the left of the hotel gate. There's a lavermat to the left and the righ of the main road with traffic lights for pedestrians. Very near metro Mon Sartre.

I was pleasantly surprised to find the hotel looking out on trees at the front, which made us feel we were in the countryside. It was also surprisingly quiet at night.
