I liked Roscrea and I did not find anything negative.
I liked Roscrea and I did not find anything negative. Rackett Hall was an ideal location and great value to visit Birr Castle and heritage sights in surrounding towns. The food in Rackett hall was excellent and we did not find it necessary to eat elsewhere. There are several golf courses near at hand and Roscrea is a very welcoming club.

Lovely little town.
Lovely little town. Seemed very bustling in the business area, and St. Cronan's Catholic Church was beautiful! Also did some hiking at Orange Hill. Our only disappointment was the Roscrea Heritage Center, which was closed for renovation, and we had hoped to get help there with ancestor information. Despite being closed, the director and assistant were very friendly and helpful and gave us some great Roscrea history. Enjoyed our visit to Leap Castle, too.

The town is quite big and lots to see historically. 5 euro for a ticket at the castle gets you two tours and gallery viewing is free but also allows you to visit the other landmarks nearby on the same ticket. There is lots to do nearby in other areas advertised around the town and on leaflets in the castle and hotels. Like Lough Derg for watersports and nature watching

The stuff was absolutely wonderfull. From the first moment that you put your feet in you feel like at home. The food was amazing and they take care of you like if you were part of the family, Highly recomended!

The afternoon tea was amazing and really good value for money. Dinner was also really nice and very reasonable. Overall the food was lovely, room and hotel was very clean but the nicest part of our stay was the staff, so attentive and really friendly, from the receptionist to the servers to the cleaners they were all so nice and a credit you the hotel. A hidden gem in Tipperary
