Although known for the Nuremberg Trials, this Bavarian city has a stunning medieval core of cobbled streets and half-timbered buildings that wouldn’t look out of place in a fairy tale. Sitting above this is the castle, one of the most important in the Holy Roman Empire. Take the steep walk up here for fantastic old town views.
Hauptmarkt square in the old town is home to an unusual-looking church and a Gothic fountain, spectacularly lit during the annual Nuremberg Christmas markets. Selling everything from wooden toys to lebkuchen (gingerbread), these are widely considered the best Christmas markets in Germany.
Other attractions in Nuremberg (Nürnberg in German) include the Germanisches Nationalmuseum, the country’s largest museum of culture and art. Another highlight is the Heilig-Geist-Spital, a medieval hospital by the Pegnitz River.
A word must also be said about its relationship with Nazism. On the south-east corner are the immense Nazi Rally Grounds and Party Congress Hall, built in appropriately domineering fashion. The excellent Documentation Center here is a sensitive and unbiased portrayal of life under Hitler. It is also possible to visit the courtroom where the war trials were held.
Before leaving your Booking.com apartment, hotel or hostel to go to Nuremberg Airport, don’t forget to try the spicy local sausage!
I went to Nuremberg to research the National Archives.
I went to Nuremberg to research the National Archives. This went well leaving time to accompany my wife doing some tourism. The city is delightful and the people are very friendly. The only tourists we saw were of the more intellgent selective type. The town has much of its mediaeval buildings with very careful rebuilding in the 1950's. We ate very well in several restaurants. Fantastic street markets and museums. The Castle (Burg) is well worth a visit as is the National Museum.

I'd been to Nuremberg for attending BIOFACH.
I'd been to Nuremberg for attending BIOFACH. I stayed an extra three days to see around and I believe, with a guided tour I would have covered some more interesting places.
You can have own tour of the old city by walking and couple of days guided tours will take most important and historical places.
Most of the restaurants are open till 10.0pm and at railway station McDonald is 24 hours (as someone told) . Please check, if you are a late eater.

The review is subjective.
The review is subjective. Nuremberg is smaller than Berlin and Munich, but has more things to see. During winter the streets are empty and calm. My friend, who is living there, told me that during summer there are much more people out there. Regular places in the city look very nice and inspiring. Speaking of cafes, I would really recommend Rockcafe Brown Sugar.

We particularly like the old city which is full of history.
We particularly like the old city which is full of history. Really nice to know that it was rebuilt with great sympathy after the war. There are so many great places to eat, the Sangham Indian restaurant is a must if you like that style of food. It is the best I have had and they have Indian wine which is nearly as good as the local Franconian wine. Also the Mautkeller beer hall very good food and they also brew their own Bavarian beers. Also a couple of bratwurst restaurants The Bratwursthäusle and one just across from the hotel can’t remember the name but exceptionally good food. Very easy to get around the city and further afield using public transport. Go to the VGN website and you can purchase what’s called a Mobi ticket, they can cover a day, 7 days or 31 days and are such good value for money.

We traveled to Nürnberg for three days.
We traveled to Nürnberg for three days. However, we only spent one full day in the city itself, afterwards we travelled to Munich and Heidelberg. What I liked about Nürnberg was the old architecture of the oldtown in the Centre. Furthermore, there are plenty of places to shop and some smaller activities to do, i.e. to get a tour through a cave or the streets of Nürnberg. However, we decide, due to the limited amount of time to walk through the streets ourselves. There is also a beautiful view over the city at the top of the hill, the streets of the oldtown will lead you easily to it, which is really worth visiting.
It was however, quite a task to find a place to eat, since most of them were already full with queues till outside the place. So, it is recommended to book a seat at a restaurant if you see one which you fancy a lot.
For the rest, good atmosphere on the streets, lots of people, street food opportunities, beautiful churches to view, a great panorama view, and plenty to great stuff to photograph. I would not say Nürnberg is large enough to explore for a longer period of time, one or two days should be sufficient if you are a person like me, who walks on a fine tempo.
This little hotel is a gem, tucked away on a side street across from the Old Town wall and just an easy 5 minute walk from the Hbf. It’s spotless, charming, comfortable, staffed by the nicest people and about half the price of everything else nearby. The only negative was that my room was not air conditioned, but that’s rarely a problem in Nurnberg. During the daytime, the room was still comfortably cool and nights with the windows open were Heaven. There was little traffic or noise from the street just below.
The room for 3 people came with 2 queen size beds and was very clean and comfortable. Furnishing in the rooms looks new and well maintained. Location is approximately 10 minutes walk to the old town. Reception staff are very helpful and attentive, they offered to provide umbrellas for us to to use to walk to the old town on a rainy day. Hotel is within easy access to restaurants and train station. Wifi was secured and strong.
In the walking distance from train station about 600 m. It’s very convenient to the old town, Excellent variety breakfast coffee maker in room, friendly staff.
Even have sauna and steam room. But did not separate female and male , so I didn’t used it.
we can leave our luggage both before and after check out.
In the lobby there is a fresh fruit and drinking water you can take.
Highly recommend this hotel.
Very clean and comfortable hotel. Stayed here for 5 nights for work (for an expo at Messe), and was very happy with my choice. Excellent breakfast, and also had dinner at the hotel one night, which was good, too. I arrived very early and the hotel has a convenient ‘office’ area, from where I could work for a couple of hours before I could check in. Very convenient for both metro and walking around the Old town.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful and plentiful. The location was perfect - close to old town, the Documentation center, the Hall of Justice and many other things. They also offered day trips from the hotel. The staff was very helpful in knowing what tram lines to take if you wanted to take public transportation.
The room is spacious and modern. We got a three bedrooms flat which was very nice. The hotel is very closed to Adlerparkhaus and the old town. The location is perfect.
Worth mentioning is the breakfast served at the restaurant is second to none. Make sure your booking includes the breakfast.
The welcome is quite personal and the staff friendly. The room is large and clean with good heating. The breakfast is very good with a large choice (but no hot breakfast). The hotel is located at 10 minutes walk from the city centre and about 20 minutes from the main station.
Bathrooms are lovely and clean. BREAKFAST is outstanding and good value. Staff all smile and are freindly. Very nice feel to the hotel. Location was brilliant only a small walk to the old town and castle. Christmas markets are very close.
Hotel 5 min walk from train station & right in the city centre, the room was clean fridge in room great power shower & very quite at night I'd definitely stay there again only bad thing no breakfast but I found lots of restaurants close,
The hotel is new and very comfortable. Rooms are soundproof. Very good beds and a comfortable bathroom. Cooking facilities and a small fridge in the room. Reception open 24/7. Next to a metro station, city centre within 2 stops.
This hotel is located in a beautiful neighborhood in the old town and few minutes away from city centre. The personnel is very friendly, helpful and did more than enough to offer us a great stay.
Highly recommended!
It is perfect for one night. The room is very small, but has everything you need. The hotel is new. There is a metro station next to the hotel with a great connection to the city centre.
loved the nice added touches of the plants, the design and the close walking distance to old town. it was THEE favorite out of all the places we stayed on our two week trip in Germany.
