Pörtschach is a (touristic) village at the Woerthersee with many restaurants and bars. Excellent for wateractivities but also a good base for walking/hiking. Sightseeing options in the neighbourhood to spend some days. We had a very good dinner experience at restaurant Orathai Schiffwirth.

The whole area is perfect for any kind of vacation activity. The seeside is real alpin adria. The city is equipped with everything you need to enjoy your holidays. Bigger cities like Klagenfurt or Villach with many other cultural or sport opportunities are easily accesible.

We really like the spectacular view of the surrounding...
We really like the spectacular view of the surrounding mountains around the lake. Lots of hiking trails available so it's good for those who want to go for a bit outdoor. If you are there, you have must visit Minimundus and Pyramidkogel (don't miss the slide from the top). We were in the middle of February, and unfortunately most of the restaurants were closed, in the evening (arrount 7-8 pm) the streets are empty, only a few bars were open. It was a shame that in Minimundos most of the buildings were covered with some protective stuff, so it was less enjoyable.

The hotel is located a few dozen meters from the lake, with its own "beach", that is, a place where you can rest on deck chairs overlooking the mountains. Clean rooms, very good breakfasts and friendly staff. Active people will appreciate the many bicycle routes, including the one around the lake (about 45 km). It DOES have air conditioning, which was nice as temperatures were in the 90’s. A beautiful hotel. The hotel gave us 1 room instead of 2, but made it right and we stayed in a suite for the first night. It also sits on the boardwalk which made a nice walk each evening. I would love to come back here.

Very close to Edelweissbad (lake). If you stay at least one night in a hotel etc. in Kärnten, you can use ÖBB regional & S-train for free during your stay :-)

It is perfect for people looking for a quick rest on a long drive. There's a convenience store right there too. It is not a fancy hotel by any means, but perfect for what it is advertised for.
