The breakfast was very good. Glad to know they made eggs for breakfast. But the kitchen was very slow at breakfast and dinner the night before.
Located in a former 18th-century wine estate, this luxury hotel overlooks vineyards and the Douro Valley.

Lovely location with views of the Douro River, great food and lovely swimming pools. Walkable from Pinhão though it was quite warm and there is a hill at the end. Loved the history of the Quinta. Beds were comfortable

First of all the host/owner is so lovely, easy going and helpful. Very responsive. The room was stocked with juice, milk, coffee, tea, fruit, jam, 2 types of deli meats, cheese and bread. He also brought us fresh bread in the morning, and offered to bring us anything else we needed. Prior to arrival he sent us a detailed list of hikes, wineries, and restaurants, along with a couple maps! The room had AC/heating, extra blankets. Also has beautiful terrace.

We drove to Pinhão. The roads are slightly terrifying but the views are spectacular.
We were there in March so not everything was open. Best restaurant was Writers Place! The walking trails through the vineyards were fantastic!

The perfect spot to explore some of the lovely Quintas the Douro Valley has to offer. Would definitely recommend Pinhao as your base. We drove to Pinhao from Porto which was great for sight seeing and super easy. We visited the three Quintas that are within walking distance from Pinhao train station which were lovely. I’d recommend making a reservation in advance for dinners or lunch where possible. But we also did a few walk ins.

Pinhao is stunning. with good selection of restaurants in the evening. Beautiful wineries. As the wineries are built into cliffs the drive to Pinhao and around is not for the faint hearted. The roads are very narrow some without safety barriers. However if you can get past this it is worth it for the scenary. It is a sleepy village but everyone is so friendly. One or two days maximum is enough.

Excellent location on an S bend on the river Douro.
Excellent location on an S bend on the river Douro. Sleepy village atmosphere but with plenty of activities around the railway boat trips and quinta wine tasting. Some good restaurants. Wonderful views if you climb up through the village. Watch out for the dogs though - they are always enclosed but can be extremely aggressive.

The position of this hotel is breath taking and the staff are really helpful. Be careful when booking, some rooms are in the main building but some are away up and down a very, very steep lane. Not for anyone with a disability. We used the restaurant and although the food was lovely, we thought it was a bit pricey. It was good, but not that good.
Photos don't do it justice. The view is beautiful, especially at night along the R Pinhao to the Douro from the many terraces and outside spaces. Plenty of space for 4 or even 6. Spotlessly clean, great to have a fridge of food and homegrown fruit provided plus the most delicious homemade port. Feels very spacious and Monica the owner sent somebody within minutes to fix an issue at the property. Pool is a real bonus. If you so desired you could abseil down to The Bridge - a great restaurant by the river directly below the house!!!
Fantastic tucked on a hill surrounded by olive trees and vines (perfect for a morning hike) and located at walking distance to the Pinhao town. The House has a real homy feel to it and is well appointed. The fridge was stocked perfectly for us to make nice breakfasts in the morning and the clothes washer was a nice bonus as we are traveling across country. We also enjoyed a nice evening using the wood burning BBQ. This house is perfect to enjoy this incredible wine country and the beautiful views it offers.
Dois Lagares House was easily accessible from the train station in Pinhão and walking distance to the restaurants and tours we chose during our stay. The view from the shared living room was spectacular, looking out over the Douro river. The home is clean, bright and tastefully decorated. Our room was comfortable and spacious, with a walkout to a small patio. The owner, Hugo, and his mother went out of their way to make our stay an enjoyable one. A highlight of our trip to Portugal, for sure.
Location and views from our room overlooking the Douro and Pinhao village were outstanding. The hillside gardens and pool area are beautiful too.
Welcome airconditioning in a region that can get very hot.
Dinner on the balcony was memorable.
Pinhao town nearby is lovely, especially the station and its mosaic tiles. Lovely atmosphere in this secluded and magical spot. The approach from the north down the steep winding road is simply stunning.
Very well thought hostel with exhaustive facilities and some extras. Even though breakfast is not included in the offer, it is available on site. Also, I checked in after midnight. Not only was the owner flexible allowing this, but I was also greeted with a glass of local wine. Overall, this is a great property to stay in and it is conveniently located both in Pinhão and the entire Douro region.
Beautiful location in the middle of vineyards, not far from Pinhao
Excellent guided tour through the winery with a very knowledgeable lady
Great dinner and a simple but good breakfast
Rooms are not big but they are clean and comfortable
Nice pool with a great view of the surrounding hills and vineyards
Very quiet location - loved the silence of the countryside!
First of all two staff Pedro and Sara were very very wonderful.
Their attitudes for the guests and friends is amazingly friendly, and gave us many nice advices and suggestions to enjoy Pinhao and around.
The room is very clean and the rooftop garden is also wonderful.
I could appreciate 4 Douro and Porto wine tastings and replied some to "HONOR BOX".
Nothing. We weren’t able to stay there. The property in no accessible. My partner is handicapped and there was no parking on the property or on the street anywhere near the property. It’s NOT a three Starr property. The owned still hasn’t answered my emails. Very dissatisfied with this booking. We ended up stay at another hotel for the evening.
This was a well appointed entire home with at least two bedrooms, located conveniently in Pinhão. Excellent communication and self-checkin made it convenient. Allowed us to relax and enjoy the locale, and also launder our clothes. The WiFi worked well and the ‘street’ is quiet.
Beautiful winery on the Douro River. Large room windows opened to a river view. Outdoor restaurant serves happy hour, breakfast and dinner. Excellent winery tour followed by a wonderful meal. Walked to the town of Pinhao from the hotel.
Enjoyed a boat cruise and more wine.
Great location in Pinhao. Breakfast was excellent and our hosts took care to cater for our dietary needs (one coeliac, one non-dairy). They were also very informative about the property and the area. Nice to sit outside on our own terrace with a glass of Douro wine!
Pedro and staff were so helpful and kind! Great location in Pinhao, mountain views, close to the river, restaurants, train station, etc. Clean with comfy bed! Local artwork! Nice breakfast provided. Games like dominos available as well!
spacey hotel with big rooms and classy style; nice location at the river Douro with a good view; excellent breakfast and restaurant; staff was extra friendly
Wonderful location in the small town of Pinhāo in the Douro valley. The houseboat is just as pictured and very well equipped with everything you might need.
