Plenty of choice for breakfast. Husband happy as very few places serve tinned tomatoes.

We had a terrible experience at this hotel. It was overpriced, shoddy, empty and the staff were unaccomodating. Would never recommend.

Nice, cosy room in a house (Room #9 with 3 beds). It was a very quiet place to rest well. Wonderful people at the reception and the dining room. Tasty Breakfast options (Typical English and Continental).
Might try the independent annex the next time for a longer stay (we just stayed for a night to rest on the way from Scotland to London).

The whole vibe of the place, it was excellent
Loved the fact that the host gave us milk for brews as well as other amenities. Definitely going to book again to stay in the other rooms. Very good value for money.

When we arrived our room smelt musty and dirty then we couldn’t get the electric to work apparently our room is renowned for this and there is a knack for wiggling the fitting. Then we had no hot water. The basin unit was damp and rotting from the bottom. For the money we paid a very sub standard room

Great place good food choice of either pub menu or there's an Italian restaurant and loads of outdoor seating right next to the canal, great for a stroll down canal looking at the wildlife and boats. Highly recommended.

Comfortable stay in a characterful hotel in a beautiful location.
Very friendly staff, with large rooms and super comfy beds. Nice and warm room and good hot water in the shower.
Lighting was dim in the main room but bright in the bathroom. Only one plug socket, away from bed. Bathroom could do with a bit of tlc but clean and tidy.

Receptionist looked like she had been dragged through a hedge backwards, poor safety standards in the room, poor nights sleep.
Good quality breakfast, bit long coming, like my bacon done a bit more.
Wouldn’t stay there again.

Saddened the Italian menu has changed not rack of lamb on the menu, mother in law only got 2 baby potatoes on her meal, charged different prices at the bar through our stay ranging from 9 pounds to 20 pounds for the same drinks, pubic hairs in the bath, no night time entertainment very disappointed as we have been come to guys for over 15 yrs .
Nothing. This so called "hotel" was filthy. Our room (Number 12) was grubby and covered in dust and cobwebs. The slats on the venetian blind were taped together with sellotape. The lavatory wouldn't flush, the vent on the wall above the lavatory was covered in dust, looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. To make things worse, the shower plug was blocked and the water was unable to drain away.
Lovely hotel in Quirky surroundings and lovely location right on the river bank . Staff very efficient and happy to serve you what ever the questions . Ate in the Attached pub ( Guys Tavern ) good food reasonably priced only complaint very small portion of chips on the plate 😢Lovely change to have huge bedroom and massive shower and massive luxury bed ( Cottage 50 was my room )
Very interesting setting. Looking forward to staying there in the summer
Best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had ! Lovely staff and comfortable bed
FYI the bathroom area is not separated from the bedroom area. So if you don’t want your partner to see you in the bath ask for a different room. The loo was, of course, separate !
About staying Loved everything about staying at guys was our first time but wont be our last, the staff are friedly and helpful and the setting is beautiful i recommend a walk up the side of the canal about a mile and a half of gently strolling up to barton grange garden centre you wont be disappointed
The bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water for a bath. It was a peaceful location. The hotel itself looked quirky with all the thatched rooves, though I didn't get to see it properly as I arrived in the dark, and left before it got properly light the next day.
