We were there on a Sunday and it was raining pretty heavily. Only a couple of places were open. Luckily we got into YFan earlier and had a lovely rest and a tea while waiting for our room thanks to the hosts. They made our stay more pleasurable.

For business and just an overnight stay, we didn't spend a great deal of time exploring.
I would definitely revisit though.
Roads are clearly marked and there is lots of car parks or on street parking depending on the length of your stay. Quite hilly in some areas so worth driving around for 5 minutes to find somewhere more suitable if needed.
Morrisons has a large car park limited to 3 hours.
We visited the Courthouse for an evening meal and would highly recommend this pub. It's just lovely!
Plenty of seating both inside and outside, with a view of the castle.
Food and drink was good and the staff were polite and friendly.
We also visited the Piccadilly for a game of pool. A quieter pub (Tuesday) but both locals and staff friendly.

We always enjoy Caerphilly and found Ty Castell an excellent place for our needs. Steve was a great host, friendly & very helpful. We walked wherever we went & had no problems with that. Only a 2 night stay this time so we ate at Wetherspoons & Red Kite both quite reasonably priced & good food.

The Castle is huge and really interesting especially when there is an event going on - people all dressed in period costumes doing what they would have been doing back in the period they are representing. Lovely Italian restaurant overlooking the Castle.

Friendly town, with a mix pf things to do close at hand.
Friendly town, with a mix pf things to do close at hand. Would highly recommend Caerphilly Castle, and the parkland around it. Impressed by the Tourist Information Centre, with an excellent cafe. Very reasonable parking charges.
this is a chance to stay in a characterful old building, it’s all oak beams, open fires, and traditional decoration , it is a world away from your Travellodge and Premier inns, the staff are great and the food both breakfast and evening meals are lovely and exceptional good value , in fact the whole hotel is run to a budget and some of us really appreciate that, if you or anyone in your party is ‘ fussy ‘ and everything needs to be perfect I’d take them elsewhere .
The property was centrally located with excellent views of Caerphilly castle right across the road. The apartment was delightful; bright, airy, clean and fully equipped. There was tea, coffee, bread and milk left for us which was a lovely touch. I’d highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again. There is also an overnight security guard who was so lovely and accommodating.
Meticulously maintained. Big breakfast. Everything was walkable for us. Very good restaurant options. We booked this room with the intention of visiting Cardiff. We spent our entire stay in Caerphilly. The whole area was very welcoming and helpful. The people, including our host, were wonderful and we would love to visit there again.
Beautifully converted Elizabethan manor house. Gorgeous decor, very clean, lovely big bathroom. Delicious breakfast with locally sourced food. Secure private parking. Easy access to M4. Very friendly and interesting hosts. About 20 mins walk to Caerphilly where we had an excellent dinner in an Italian restaurant called Volare
Our stay here was a 30 minute alternate to the higher prices in Cardiff. We were a 10 minute walk to the train station. Steve was very accommodating with parking and early check in. We arrived early and took in The Little Cheese Festival in Caerphilly. We enjoyed a great breakfast on the first morning.
The property is in a great location of Caerphilly. The property was clean and safe for my 1 year old granddaughter, the ground floor apartment suited us well, for that reason. The owner David was very helpful and responded promptly to my messages. Would definitely recommend the apartment.
A beautiful house, extremely comfortable, a great breakfast and the most delightful hosts who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Walking distance from the centre of Caerphilly and Castle plus a couple of decent restaurants.
the location is excellent, and the nature reserve at the back of the property is beautiful, there are easy links to get to Cardiff, Swansea, and barry island. we were also able to get to Caerphilly and Newport very easily
Great budget hotel that takes dogs .
Great priced food and good selection of beers.
Good local establishment.
Good walks on door step.
Great bit of history linked to the original owner of the property.
Lovely, characterful property, great location being ten mins from train station, can enjoy lovely walks around Caerphilly castle. Nothing was too much trouble for Steve the owner.
We had lots of space in our room. It was very close to a train station so we were able to easily get to Cardiff. Steve was very helpful and friendly and he made a good breakfast.
The room was spacious, and the bed very comfortable. Good water pressure. The host was very welcoming. Good location, a few minute walk into Caerphilly town.
