We loved the location right in town and the room was nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable and the shower and toiletries were well above average. Staff were friendly and seemed to be working more than one job - quite an impressive team spirit in play.

Excellent location for exploring the local area. The room was spacious, well furnished. The staff were really excellent and the breakfast good. The hotel decor was better than we had expected from past experience of it. Despite having a party on, we had been put far enough away from it for there to be no issue with noise.

Location very rural, roads to it are rough. Not a problem for many but be aware if your vehicle has low clearance. Annex where we stayed had a twin bedded room downstairs and a double upstairs however there was only one front door key which we sorted amicably with the lady in the double room. The doors to the bedrooms could only be locked from the inside not the outside. Definitely not ideal. The shower was reached from the hallway so not technically en suit. There was no shower door or curtain and there was a small leak from underneath the wash hand basin. We put the bucket from the pedal bin under to stop the floor getting soaked. The toilet and shower were very clean but there was only tepid water available on the evening of arrival. The following morning the water was piping hot. The bedroom itself had no wardrobe or hanging facilities and no chairs. The sheets were clean and the beds comfy but a bit of dust was to be seen and the odd cobweb. I had requested gluten free bread/roll for breakfast which did not materialize the first morning but was organized by the second so I had to have just cornflakes as I don't eat a cooked breakfast. The cooked breakfast looked adequate but not exceptional. The price was extremely reasonable but you do get what you pay for. If you are easy going people this could well be fine for you. Finicky people not such a good choice. It was really peaceful and a lovely old building. The host was very pleasant.

Our visit was to catch up with relatives and revisit places from our childhoods and to visit the church where family are buried. Chiddingfold is a good starting point for us. We ate in The Crown, the food was very good.
Nicely restored, centuries old building, but with all the expected idiosyncrasies….sloping floors, low doorways and ceilings, narrow stairs, no lift. The restaurant was excellent, food delicious, varied menu. Breakfast options were good. The location in the village of Chiddingfold was perfect for us.
It’s a fantastic little hideaway, it was clean, comfortable, tucked away enough that you feel like you’re in your own little world, but with nice places to go and eat not far away at all, little touches make it less of a hotel vibe and more like a home away from home…I love it!
Staff were pleasant and Eve was helpful as she was very embarrassed and apologetic for everything at the hotel and the condition of the rooms etc- she moved us to another room which was 'cleaner' but the overall condition was appalling and I didn't sleep for two nights
we loved the historical value of this beautiful old inn and pub. The bed was comfortable. The staff was nice and informative. the owner Hannah gave us a lot of history. Our room had a beautiful 4 poster bed and a separate sitting room. the pub is amazing too!
The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. The addition of a table fan was a nice touch for added comfort during the summer. The inn had also prepared the baby cot before our arrival, which not many hotels do. The breakfast and dinner were excellent.
Fantastic hotel. Lovely room (stayed in the Tudor Suite). Spacious and clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and included in the price. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
Beautiful hotel and staff are so lovely, Martin is dedicated to making your stay as comfortable as possible. Food is delicious and we would definitely recommend staying in this amazing place. My elderly dog loved his stay too.
A cosy pub/restaurant/hotel, serving lovely food. It’s a great place to stay if you’re traveling with a dog. The staff were all friendly and helpful. For a village pub/restaurant it does get busy, which is nice.
The room was very comfortable. The two women on duty were excellent. They coped incredibly well even though there were many more clients than was envisaged and the restaurant/hotel was understaffed.
The hotel is very old and has lots of character. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, the room was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly and attentive.
staff were fantastically friendly, the venue was warm and cosy and very well put together. no noise in the hotel and everything well managed! we will be back
