Lovely and cozy hotel. Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed and guided to our room. The room was extremely comfortable, with lots of space and a big bed. Our waiter at dinner, He-man, was beyond exceptional to us and everyone in the dining room.

The room was clean, the whole building very tired & worn , needs a lot of money spent on it !
Naomi was a very helpful lady she offered us a lift to the local pub which was very kind of her , very friendly & helpful !
Unfortunately the lady on the reception desk when we arrived was not so pleasant, kept talking over me which is found very frustrating.

Lovely small, vibrant town with a good atmosphere, plenty of places to eat and drink and small independent shops. Nice local history too with the Crickhowell Bridge and the ruins of the castle in town as well as being surrounded by beautiful countryside.

The Bear is very central in a delightful little town.
The Bear is very central in a delightful little town. Ample parking. We were upgraded to a bigger room which was very comfortable. The staff were outstanding. It was a well.motivated trained happy team. Always busy with guests and locals but it ran very smoothly
Kestrel Inn is well-sited and overlooks the scenic Cwmdu valley. The Inn and its rooms are clean, warm and comfortable, and the owners are welcoming with much-needed advice on places to visit and things to do. Breakfast was cooked by the owners, which we appreciated greatly, and dinners were found in the historic village of Crickhowell, which is only a 6 minute drive away. The Inn is well-placed to explore Brecon Beacons National Park by car or bicycle, with quiet country lanes starting literally over the road.
Absolutely lovely accommodation - the Loft suite was a huge room plus the entrance and dining area and bathroom. Really comfortable bed and it is really as roomy and pleasant as it looks in the photos. Plentiful breakfast to enjoy in the room including fresh berries. We liked being a walk from Llangattock and Crickhowell - it’s a pleasant stroll down to the Horseshoe Inn and back but felt more ‘breathing room’ being set in a quieter location away from the town centre. We would definitely stay here again.
Lovely big old traditional country hotel. We loved the location with gorgeous grounds for a morning stroll after breakfast, yet just outside the cute village of Crickhowell and easy to find with GPS. We loved the cozy yet roomy bar/lounge where we could get tea and drinks and play card games for a long rainy afternoon then move seamlessly to dinner. The rooms were spotless and comfortable if a bit small. Check in and out was seamless. There was a big, delicious traditional English breakfast.
This cottage was the perfect getaway we needed. The cottage had everything we needed and more. Great distance to all the places we wanted to explore in Wales, nowhere seemed too far away, Cardiff, Beacons and so much more. The perfect base for exploring and after a long day out, Crickhowell had the most wonderful choice of pubs on your doorstep.
Not that I wanted too but had to spend one morning working. Had the perfect set up in the dining room with Wi-Fi.
Great village in wales that is very beautiful. Great location to start from if going on the Beacon canal. Was recommended by Beacon Park Boats. The in-house restaurant is superb! The pub was cosy and offered food as well. The manager at the Inn was a 10 on helping us with a variety of request . I’d return over and over !!!!!!!
Having only ever driven past Crickhowell, when booking reasonably priced accommodation in a strange area can sometimes lead to disappointment. Not so The Old Rectory, a lovely old building, a gem of a village in a beautiful area. It was extremely good value an excellent hotel where nothing was too much trouble.
Lovely view from the front on the hotel and great setting. Very pleasant to sit abs have a drink in the sun when we arrived. Just a short walk to Crickhowell. Lovely to have a pool, sauna and steam room. Worth noting there is a £5 extra charge per person to use. Room was clean with good facilities.
What seemed like a walking through a labyrinth from reception to our room, we were impressed that at the end of our walkway was a door straight to the car park. Fantastic. An old but lovely quaint hotel with plenty of parking in a nice little town. Ideal base for exploring the brecon beacons.
very warm welcome, clean and nice room, generous (more than a continental) breakfast. We stayed in a room above the Pub space and it was not a nuisance at all. a short walk into Crickhowell. ideal to explore the beautiful National Park. Def recommend it.
Excellent location in the centre of the lovely town of Crickhowell. Walking distance to all the local shops, pubs and cafes. Ideal apartment as a base for a weekend walking in the surrounding area...and dog friendly too!
Great location just a short drive - or even a walk - from Crickhowell. Amazing views.
Friendly staff. Nice food.
We had a superior room at the front of the hotel - spacious room.
Good menu choice for dinner and good service by staff despite being very busy. Were able to offer gluten free options.
Lovely garden to sit in and relax. Rooms were very clean.
Great location. Good value. Good pub with food 100m along road.
Close to crickhowell (20 min walk).
Lovely surrounding countryside.
Hosts very friendly and responsive.
The Studio is perfect accommodation for a couple. It is so close to Crickhowell shops and pubs and most days we walked from the Studio without needing a car.
Self catering but was in the middle of town with plenty of choice of eateries.close to pubs and restaurants.Nearby riverside walks and and boat hire on canal.
