I've stayed here several times, and the staffing is greatly improved.
Everyone is courteous, efficient and helpful. I wasn't well on my first evening, and one of the staff led me back to my room.
The rooms are comfortable and generally quite quiet, as is the location (though there can be noise if there is a function on).

We needed to check-in as early as possible so we could attend a wedding. I'd emailed beforehand and the staff had gone out of their way to turn around our room so we could have access when we arrived. It was a large, well appointed room with an ensuite incorporating both a jacuzzi bath and an excellent powerful shower. It was clean and tidy, if a little care-worn, but the bed was exceptionally comfortable, with high thread count bedding and fluffy towels and they get my vote because a teapot was provided. ☺️
Located just off the A59 in the heart of the beautiful Ribble Valley, this hotel aims to impress with its 3-star luxury accommodations, leisure club and Foxfields Restaurant.

Size and comfort of room, Great friendly staff, Quality of food both at Dinner & Breakfast was superb. Normally we would stay at one of national chains that Sir Lenny Henry advertises (PI) but this is definitely worth the little extra £. Restaurant is good value for money for the quality and quantity of food received along with superb service. ***No service charges or table charges which is a pleasant surprise nowadays*** enable us to choose to leave a good tip which we did.

The facilities are excellent, clean, comfortable and I was travelling with my service dog so they provided treats, a bed and bowls for her. Beautiful views of the Ribble Valley and the whole hotel was decorated nicely and comfortable.

On arrival we were met with an immediate issue as we were due to attend a wedding and there were no rooms reserved for us despite us booking in January. The hotel was full. The hotel staff and team there managed to sort the situation and arranged alternative accommodation at another hotel. Exceptional performance under an incredibly difficult situation.

I visited for a family party, but I have visited the area many times, Clitheroe Castle is great, only 5 miles, Pendle hill with skying slopes, lovely area. Padiham is a former mill town, a little run down but very friendly

Hotel is a few miles from Padiham and is set in great North Lancashire countryside. However Padiham is another Typical NE Lancashire town with good chip shop and one of best football training facilities in the England. Nearby hill country to north is very picturesque.

We don't have a view of Padiham but the countryside around is beautiful. One of the most enjoyable parts of our stay was that all the staff at the Higher Trapp Hotel were so friendly and most welcoming.
We shall return.
There was nobody there to let us in. No response to email.provided. texted and called mobile number given but no response.
After hanging around for a while I had to go and try to find a hotel for the night instead.
Eventually found somewhere to stay.
Furious. Was travelling with young daughter and to be abandoned like that was beyond unacceptable.
When waiting outside house I noticed that house didn't look 'lived in' at all. Is this just a scam?
I am contacting booking.com for a refund.
Lovely hotel. Food delicious. More than anything was the staff. They were wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble. Reception staff so friendly and restaurant staff were the same. Felt like home from home. We had a dog and the annex that we stayed in was spacious. Beautiful gardens too. We are definitely going to visit again. Thank you for a great stay xxxx
The food. We were there for a wedding. The wedding food and breakfast was always top quality food. I enjoyed every meal I had during my stay.
The staff were really good too. From the receptionists to the waiting staff to the bar staff. Every one of them was helpful and polite and did their job really well. They really are an asset to the hotel.
There were some party nights when we stayed for a couple of days in December so we were allocated a room in The Lodge, very comfortable and clean room. They were very busy with private parties but the staff were wonderful and attended to our needs for the evening meals and at breakfast. Great views from the dining room and the hotel garden.
The location of the hotel is wonderful, set in beautiful countryside, but not too far from towns.
Rooms are quite large, comfortable and clean (if a little tired).
The breakfast had a large selection and was a mix of buffet and cooked-to-order dishes.
The location of the hotel is lovely, in pretty grounds. Great wood panelled bar area and the restaurant offers good dinners and excellent breakfasts. The rooms are in a good condition and very roomy and comfortable. There is a lot of onsite parking too.
The location and view excellent and access to motorway in about 15 min drive which was handy. Staff greetings friendly. We were pre-warned about an event at hotel and given option to have a room in annexe for a quieter night away from party.
All staff were courteous and polite. They helped me with special food requests. The superior room was a very good soze with a comfy 4 poster bed. Hotels has lovely grounds. Ideal for people visiting Gawthorpe Hall for the textile exhibition.
The apartment was cosy and warm (heating worked well). The beds were good. The TV is huge and has Netflix. The corner shop opposite was handy and it's an easy walk into Padiham for the supermark and restaurants. Good shower.
An excellent hotel ! Couldn't find any fault with room and food , staff were very helpful . Grounds were really great. Very close to many local attractions. Would definitely stay again !
