St Austell itself is a busy industrial town but it is a good base for visiting many coastal fishing villages and nearby attractions such as Eden & Lost Gardens of Heligan. The interesting harbour village of Charlestown is a must see and Mevagissey is only 4 miles away.

Many interesting places to visit. Lovely coastline with quaint villages. Mevagissey, Fowey, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden project are must sees! I shopped in St Austell itself. A good variety of shops, in interesting streets and lanes.

We stayed in Mevagissey which is south of StAustel. St Austel is not the best place to visit in Cornwall and is a little run down but there are promises that efforts are being made to improve its image and facilities.

It was easy to get around At Austell.
It was easy to get around At Austell. Lots of places to eat and drink. Lots of places to see, and day o get to by car or bus. Beach close by lots of walks near by and things to do The annexe at Hillside was outstanding and there was a lot of little extras in the annexe. Perfect host, very wellcoming. We would highly recommend this place .It is quiet there and it has every thing you need in the annexe.
Good size bedrooms and nice bathrooms. Wi-fi worked well for me and I needed to work while there so that was very important. Nice location with 15 min walk into harbour where you could find a few nice restaurants to eat in. Would recommend The Longstore for dinner, The Cellar for drinks and The Boathouse for a nice lunch in the garden. Good size Tesco and Lidl 3 mins drive and Aldi and Asda close by too. We had a nice chinese delivered from Chinese Wok - Saint Austell one night as well.
We liked the fact that the hotel was on the cliff overlooking Charlestown and Carolyn Bay. The hotel was a beautiful building with lots of comfy rooms and the dining area overlooked the sea. Breakfasts were delicious with plenty of choice. Lovely bar area and outside seating. The food in the restaurant was also delicious. Good central property if you like a walk and can tackle the hills and rough paths. Great size car park.
Spa and pool are very good.
All the restuarant facilities are good and the food was very nice with very good service.
Never had nothing but good friendly service from the staff.
It's a good location for to several good beeches and alos Charlestown. It's well worth a visit with lots of good restuarants to choose from.
Have been several times so I must like it. That's Cornwall Spa hotel and Charlestown.
The hotel is set right on the cliff top overlooking the stunning bay! Even on a grey and rainy day it still looked beautiful! I booked only 30 minutes before arriving and was pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade to a suite with sea view. The room was very comfortable and clean. A little box of chocolates were waiting for me too! I'd highly recommend a stay here!
Nice hotel. And people at the hotel.Beware of alcoholics in the church directly opposite hotel asking for money .Its not the hotels fault.Thats down to the police and council. The hotel is nice has alot of history. Very good prices for food and drink and very helpful.Well worth a visit Location is excellent.
Very friendly staff/owners and very relaxed
Boutique style without being ostentatious
Lovely grounds
Peaceful yet near many places to visit
Comfortable king size bed
Real treat to have a swimming pool and masseuse on hand
Fantastic breakfast
Excellent value especially if you call the hotel directly...
We loved the hotel for its good breakfast, simple but effective dinner options, and a lovely set of staff. In-house parking is near and very convenient. Hassle free check-in and check-out facilities. Strategically located to access key locations around Cornwall within a 30-50 min drive.
staff was really helpful, room was sufficient for my stay had a nice desk area I could do my work with ease, hotel was based in a great location. breakfast had a nice varied selection with customization
clean, tidy & the couple who own it are lovely. the beds were super comfortable! amenities were fab. for a small hotel it was comfortably running alongside the Carlyon Bay hotel in its efforts!
Rooms were a good size and comfortable. Wifi good. Handy having a restaurant in house and meal choice good. Secure parking but some distance from the hotel which is on narrow one-way streets.
So lovely. We’d stayed in 4 other hotels on this trip (full hotels) and this was our favourite. So well thought out. Clearly they are very proud and so they should be.
