we only had two full days in Swanage in the middle of November, so our experience was not typical, We did look to drive into the town and park on the road by the side of the seafront, however the parking charge of £4.30 for the first hour put us off, who wants to benefit from 3 hours at £7.00 in November. As we didn't use the town car parks we cannot comment on the charges in them.
My husband has bad knees so we didn't park and walk around the town but there did seem to be some interesting little, individual shops as we drove through, We found Corfe Castle a delight to visit, especially the NT tea shop! We hope to go back.

I've stayed in Swanage several times and this reflects my like of Swanage and the surrounding area.
The Town / beach / numerous eating options / the compact layout of the Town makes it easy to navigate. Also great walks in and around Swanage for short strolls or longer treks.
Can't say I would have anywhere that I would avoid on subsequent visits.

Additional extra charges for dogs were not included in my initial expectations. I specifically looked for pet-friendly accommodations, assuming that the listed price would cover any potential pet fees. However, I was disappointed to discover that there was an additional £30 charge for my two teacup dogs.
The prices for meals were exceedingly high, considering that the quality and taste were not particularly impressive.

Swanage is a compact seaside town but with the added advantage of an excellent bus service and the Swanage steam railway. The beach is clean and sandy. There are boat trips from the pier during the summer. A good selection of shops not just seaside souvenirs . Plenty of choices for evening meals and snacks.

Swanage is one of my most favourite seaside towns!
Swanage is one of my most favourite seaside towns! It is an absolutely beautiful town with a gorgeous bay, with very safe bathing and also dramatic cliff tops too. The town has many lovely shops and lots of fantastic eating places around the harbour and further in the town too. It is facinating to also learn about the history of Swanage and the connections to London and royalty! It is the most wonderful family seaside location xxx

Lots of very good and varied eating houses lots of good pubs, amazing steaks at the Red Lion, excellent drink, food and friendly service at the Ship Inn and although out of the Town centre The Crows Nest was very good.
Swanage is not a drivers paradise, much easier to park up and walk round.
Most impressive shop in Swanage was Curiosity gift shop, you can loose yourself in there for hours.
Lovely, homely apartment. Excellent location and great to have parking. Very short walk to beach and Swanage Railway.
Comfortable beds, and really nice living spaces. Bright and airy. Plenty of storage space.
Plenty of cooking utensils, pots, pans and crockery. Kitchen is small but perfectly functional and easy to cook a family meal.
Nice to have shelves of books, games and puzzles (and netflix!).
Nice to have a washing machine.
We loved it and have booked again for next year!
Amazing location, perched high above the beach with a panoramic views over stunning Swanage Bay. The staff were very friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. My mother had a wonderful massage at the spa. A 10-15 minute stroll into town . I will definitely return to this hotel as it is good value. Loads to see and do nearby Durlestone, Corfe Castle ( wear good walking shoes) and even an evening at the tiny Rex Cinema in Wareham
Kept to a very high modern standard, close proximity to Swanage and on a bus route should you not want to take the 20 mins walk into town. Very Good local shop within 100 yards. Very clean , spaciose and comfortable with excellent facilities. Loads to see and do around the area . An excellent family holiday location.
We were fortunate to arrive when the small car park had a space.
The breakfast was cooked to order placed the night before and was excellent.
Our room was spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable.
The check in and check out procedures were the best I have ever experienced when staying in any hotel.
Everything was spotless and amazingly well organised. Alan, the Proprietor, could not have been more helpful. Breakfast was lovely and there were little details we had not expected, eg bottled water every morning. We had car parking space in the centre of Swanage and a short stroll to the beach.
The cottage was beautiful and well equipped. communication from the host was excellent. we stayed with our two teenage sons and there was ample space for us all. having towels, and cleaning supplies included was a bonus too! short walk to swanage high street and the beach. perfect relaxing stay
Everything about my stay was brilliant from start to finish. The host was fantastic, room lovely and clean plus spacious lovely shower. Quality breakfast choice. Breakfast room and bar kept to a high standard. Lovely family run business.
Excellent location. Good to have space to park 2 cars.
Access at front and rear. Easy to collect keys. Enough seating for us all at the table and in the lounge.
Well resourced apartment.
Exceptional view from the hotel, particularly from the terrace. Access straight down to the beach from there. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Very well located, nearby SPAR and could get to Swanage beachfront in less than 10min. The place was comfortable, kitchen was in good working order, and the beds were super comfy!
Lovely hotel, full of history and a very good location for Swanage. Good size room with sea views. Quiet, unlike other hotels we have stayed in. Staff were all friendly.
Lovely seaside hotel. Great to have private steps down to the beach. Clean room and all amenities as expected. Nice bar. Spacious lounge and friendly staff.
