Husavik was our favourite town in Iceland. Fabulous whale watching cruise, including two rarely seen blue whales. The GeoSea Thermal Pools are a great spot for a beer in a warm salt water pool overlooking the ocean. Several excellent restaurants and bars too.

Whale watching was excellent on the sunset trip at 7.30-10.30pm. Watched four humpback whales surface feeding and diving down.
Puffin colony nearby too. Good for seabird watching. Otherwise not much to Husavik for us - a service centre with fuel, food shops, a few restaurants and new pool complex that looked good but we did not visit.

Whale Watching was a bonus as we managed to spend 30 minutes with a Minke. If you are driving to Husavik from south, then make sure you have ample time to stop and admire the highlands and also complete the diamond circle. Make sure you stick to speed limit of 90KM across Iceland ;-)

I stayed here mostly for the GeoSea spa.
I stayed here mostly for the GeoSea spa. It was very snowy so I ended up cutting some of the driving out of my day and got here early. Except for whale watching and the spa, there is almost nothing to do here. (Unless you're there at the time of the music festival). A great place to stay though if you're seeing the diamond circle. Lovely views and nice people in town as well.

Husavik is a delight!
Husavik is a delight! The spot to experience the north Coast of Iceland. Lots to see and do, dont miss out on the bath! Very good restaurants. Use Google! Museums, whale and puffins, just get the atmosphere of a harbour facing the far north.
We drove up north on F25 and consideringit takes another two hours to get there once you hit Road1 we thought this was overdoing it a bit. But no.
I instead wish we had stayed overnight closerto Akureyri and continued to Husavik. The drive is just to beutiful to do whenyou are tried. Spend at least two nights, -the point is not to feel stressed. Then continue to Myrvatn.
It can be said that the hotel had 2-star status, so of course you can't ask for great service. In addition, our visit was in the complete off-season - in the middle of winter. Thank you to the hosts for the opportunity to stay in Husavik and enjoy the hospitality. The hotel is in a very good and easily accessible location, as well as close to all the sights of the hotel (if, of course, the roads are open at all in winter) ... For budget travelers, the hotel is definitely recommended.
We LOVED staying here. To check in, the company send you a code and you check yourself in. It was so easy and nice! There is free parking and it is right near the few restaurants, gas stations, iconic Husavik church, and the whale watching excursions. We had a whale watching excursion and were able to leave the car here. It was super easy! The room was very roomy- there was a small minifridge, couch, double bed, and bathroom. The shower was very nice and clean. There was also a TV.
Fantastic location in Husavik. We were able to walk to our planned excursion, 5 minutes to the harbor. Very quiet spot, very clean room and bathroom. Beds were comfy, the only small complaint were the pillows. They were just like half pillows instead of standard pillows which was odd. But otherwise it was great. There was a nice shared common area and kitchen. Would definitely stay there again if in the area.
We were more than pleasantly surprised when we turned up because the photos didn't do the cottage justice. This was my favorite place we stayed in Iceland. The cottage was beautifully designed, built to a high standard and bigger than we expected. Add the view and the easy to use hot tub, and I wanted to move in permanently. Such a cool spot!
Plus, we enjoyed our meals in nearby Husavik.
Amazing hotel that appears to have been completely redone within the past year. The dinner and breakfast were both excellent, staff was very friendly and helpful, and the location of the hotel, almost exactly between Akureyri and Masvatn was ideal. Godafoss was right out your front door. Highly recommend this hotel.
We stayed at a couple of Fosshotel locations while in Iceland, and were consistently impressed! This one is super conveniently located within walking distance of the whale watching docks, shops, restaurants, and stores. Super comfy, clean, and modern. The staff was so helpful, and the breakfast buffet was delish!
Beautiful house, like small apartment, much better than any classic hotel rooms !
Beautiful, comfortable, new and clean.
And that view .... just amazing !
We are on our road trip around Iceland and this is absolutely the best place we stay !
I higly recommend this. 🗻🇮🇸💙
The jumping area behind the hotel is great for kids and grownups. The kitchen area is large and appealing. Rooms are fresh and modern.
Everything is clean. Code and key deposit worked well.
I would wish for more Iceland specific art- the paintings are more than generic.
Clean, comfortable accommodation, quiet street, but close to centre of Husavik. Generous breakfast of cereals, toast and cold plate included. Kitchen facilities for guests to make meals . Used discount code for whale watching trip and saw 3 whales!
Beautiful spot overlooking bay, short drive or walk to harbour,. We loved the hotel library with Icelandic sagas on the shelves . Also the geo pool just down the road.
