Clean. Modern. Friendly owners and staff. Great lighting in the room.
Great breakfast, and they even offer dinner, which was delicious. For such a remote area hotel Selja is a gem.

This place is like a dream! A beautiful boutique hotel with working farm. The dinner and breakfast were wonderful and the staff was even better! Did I mention we road their beautiful Icelandic horses on a mountain/flatland ride. Could have stayed forever!

Stunning place to see the Northern Lights (which we did!)
Breakfast was delicious and lots of options for veggie, meat-eaters etc.
Shame the reception/bar closes at 10pm (even on the weekend) would have been amazing to view the lights from the windows in the main lodge itself.
The rooms were fresh, clean and comfortable.

Wonderful Hidden Gem of a Hotel and Breakfast was OUTSTANDING
Rooms are quiet and comfortable and well maintained and upgraded.
Shower was a little tight and needs some update to make a little safer for people stepping in and out. A grab bar or better flooring would help.
But overall WELL DONE

Hvolsvöllur is a small town (village?), but you can find restaurants, petrol station, supermarket here, therefore ideal base of excursions -for instance to the Golden Circle (North West) or Vik region (South West).
Nevertheless there is a very special facility, the Lava Centre which much be visited definitely.

The owners were very friendly.
The owners were very friendly. They help us even at midnight. The apartment was big, clean, enough for 6 people. The place was near by the Golden circle, Black beach and other attractions. Definitely recomend it.

The proximity to the ferry for the Westman Islands was the reason we chose this property - it was only 10mins drive from the ferry terminal. Additionally, the property is 1km from Seljalandfoss, meaning you can visit away from the busiest times of day. The cabins were literally on the ring road, making it easy to find but no need to worry about noise. A very good place to stay the night and enjoy all the amazing attractions between Seljanlandfoss and Vik.

The Lava Center is a phenomenal place to stop.
The Lava Center is a phenomenal place to stop. The exhibits are interactive and so well done, all ages will appreciate learning more about Iceland's volcanos.
We heard that there were tours for hiking out of this area, but the weather was way too extreme for us to check that out.
It is very cozy place, you feel like home not like hotel. Room was very clean, simple but everything what you need is there. Huge plus was sauna and hot tube. Make you warm after long day. As well very nice that they have shoes/boots dryer. They have as well restaurant and bar.The staff was very friendly and helpful. Amazing place where to come back some day. View from room are stunning.
A very comfortable house for family or travelling couples - you have the sense that you are are away from the crowds and the views out of every window are fantastic. Very well equipped for cooking which we appreciated. The real treat was seeing a spectacular Northern Lights display one of the nights we were there!
Highly recommend for a slice of Iceland you won't forget.
The guy at the reception, the young ladies in the bar and restaurant are very friendly, helpful and professional ones.
The hotel has a very big parking place. Even the hotel has an own restaurant, but not too far from the hotel you find other opportunities as well.
The location of the hotel is good for Polar Light hunters. :-)
Great cabin, great location! we even saw the northern lights 2 nights in a row during our stay here. Their tvs can even be connected to your netflix! Loved the coziness of the cabin and the design! will definitely book this again when we come back to Iceland! Oh, and the best part is its less than 5 mins to Seljalandsfoss!
Really nice apartment with a lot of space. The kitchen is well equipped with different appliances (toaster, sandwich maker, stove, etc.). The interior design made it look like a welcoming home instead of the same old 'hotel' look. Also, there were horses nearby that you can pet!
Very nice hotel. Nice atmosphere and decor. Beautiful surroundings. Best breakfast we had all week. Everything was made fresh and the buttermilk pancakes were excellent! Also the room was not too hot unlike every other hotel we've been to and use of hot tub is included.
One of the most unique places you'll stay in Iceland. The pods are very comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked with equipment and utensils. Very clean bathrooms and showers. Make sure you have a flashlight to get there during the night.
Rental is a full house lost in the Icelandic countryside, surrounded by horses. Beautiful view of Vestmannaeyjar from the house. Very quiet and practical with three bedrooms, a bathroom and a big living room and kitchen. I recommend it :)
The view from the hotel was amazing. There is a beautiful mountain behind it.
The towel and sheets were very cool.
The room was little bit small but it was enough for us.
There are two dogs, they were so kind and smart.
all. nice house and view. beautiful. 2 night just nice to stay in this house because the house very beautiful. if i travel to iceland, i like to book this house again if available
This is a very beautiful hotel. Superb rooms . Excellent food. Very friendly staff. During our stay the best hotel , far from any other. Everything themed around horses.
The location was incredible. The food in the restaurant was amazing - the best food we’ve had in Iceland.
The staff was very friendly and we immediately felt like home.
Lovely stay along our drive in Iceland. It is close to some of the main waterfalls. Breakfast was good, the staff were nice. We saw the Northern Lights from our room
