Can't say enough good things about this boutique hotel. It is worth a night in your iceland itinerary. Beautiful decor, clean as could be, and the staff are exceptional. We were checked in by Christopher who quickly made us coffee and tea and engaged in lovely conversation. So personable and helpful! Breakfast was a delicious spread, and by far the best of all the hotels we stayed at.

The place is decorated well to provide everyone with a cozy atmosphere. All facilities are in good and clean condition. The kitchen is well equipped and the place has lounge areas in mutiple levels. Toilets are in every level, three showers in both the women's and men's side + plenty of hot water! Only a couple of hours from Reykjavik but this place feels very much away from it all. The roads in and out aren't the easiest depending on the weather. We visited in early April and got stuck in snow (twice!) on the way in taking the northern road then feared getting stuck due to road closures and difficult driving conditions on the way out but we made it. Because of this we didn't get to see as much as we'd have liked. But we did have excellent takeaway fish and chips from the harbour front at Hafnarvaginn

Small, quiet (at this time of year) but very peaceful and beautiful! We caught our best show of the northern lights here! Also, would highly recommend Narfreyrarstofa for dinner, delicious and great atmosphere!

I loved the small-town vibe and charming Icelandic architecture located on an active harbour. Beautiful ocean views from the harbour-adjacent island walk! Enjoyed soaking at the local pool/hot pots, and happy to have a bakery, grocery store, and restaurants to choose from for meals. I would gladly stay here again, or for more than one night to see some of the local museums which were closed over Easter weekend.

The staff was excellent and very accommodating. They knew the area well and could recommend meals and other services to us. We ate at a very nice fish restaurant where the one waitress ran the entire restaurant efficiently and in a timely fashion.Great food

Great location on north side of peninsula. Wish we’d had more time to explore. Excellent northern lights viewing near the lighthouse. Go up the stairs toward the lighthouse and turn left to block harbor lights.

It is a nice little town by the sea. There is a small hill by the harbor you can climb that offers beautiful views. There are also a few restaurants, cafes, shops and museums but it is also nice to just walk around.

The concierge was immensely helpful answering questions and providing items we needed. the rooms are on the small side but they have two seats with a table between, something you don’t often get in a hotel room for 2. Bathroom was really tiny but had everything you need … There was also a large lounge on the main floor and a smaller lounge on the 2nd floor where our rooms were. Tiny town so I doubt there can be an inconvenient location but the location was just minutes from the harbor and nearby restaurants.

Very nice cottage, perfect for a couple or two friends. There are two other cottages if your group is larger. They have a top notch welcoming committee in the form of a friendly Icelandic sheepdog named Moli. He was absolutely adorable and just as good natured. The property is on the Helgafell Farm and near the holy site, Helgafell Mountain. The cottages are equipped with dishes and every thing you may need for a longer stay.

The whole guesthouse was extremly clean: The room itself, the bath and even the breakfast room! The guesthouse is located in the city centre - you can easily walk to restaurants & the lighthouse. The breakfast was very good with bread, yoghurt, fruits and more (very good price). The owner was very nice and event sent us our phone charger (that we had forgotten in our room) to our next hotel! Modern and huge bathroom!

Probably the coziest hotel we have ever visited. As soon as we entered all our senses were positively affected(e.g very nice design, the smell of home made bread being baked for breakfast, nice soft music etc). Very comfortable bed and all details in the room were carefully thought with great taste. The stuff was extremely polite and helpful. The best breakfast we had in Iceland.

This small hotel is a 10 minute drive from the town of Stykkishólmur. It is remotely located on a gravel road, but we loved the setting. They offer a dinner option, which was great. Breakfast was also an added charge, but we enjoyed the convenience of having breakfast. We enjoyed our stay.
