Ubud was beautiful! So many things to see and do, we loved going to the waterfalls and rice terrace. Ubud centre was really busy but we went during the king Cremation. We went to a sliver making class which was amazing! The locals were beautiful, really friendly and not pushy at all!!

Ubud was love at first sight for us. The people, the places, the food, the atmosphere… it’s one of those magic places you find around the world that you are certain you want to go back to, even while you are still there.

Great Warungs to eat local Indonesian food

Most visited places are too overrated, with crowds of tourists an nothing special to see. Ceking rice teracce was nothing magical - rice were cut, so all we could see was a bunch of tourists in a mud taking worthless activities (like a riding a bike on zip line). Tirta Empul temple was overcrowded as well, no magic and no sense of holiness (be aware of women selling bananas. First they give banana to try, but then say ‘pay pay pay’). One of the most popular waterfall Tegenungan was nice, but even there was litter all around.
Ubud is a place for shoping as there is a lot of shops, food markets, bazzars. Very simple to travel with Gojek. A lot of places to eat. Vegan The Zest has a good vibe.
We love this place, very relaxing and healthy food. Beautiful garden, lovely pool and delicious restaurant. A bit outside ubud center but that is good because it is quiter. Just a few steps away from monkey forest, a lot of restaurants around but we took dinner at the hotel, very convenient and good. The food is all bio with many ingredients from their own garden. Mostly vegan but some options with meat. I took massage and my kids enjoyed aerial yoga class.
The best thing was to wake up with coffee and tea on the terace
Wow, the beautiful old buildings were amazing. It exceeded our expectations. It is so peaceful with an old-world charm, and the staff are fantastic; it felt like a 5-star resort. The gardens and pool are beautiful, butterflies and birds are everywhere. It is clearly a different experience from modern polished hotels, but that's what makes it so unique.
The location is awesome as well, close to lots of cafes and restaurants and you get to walk through the monkey forest (for free) to get into the centre of Ubud.
Beautiful and lush! all the tropical plants and surroundings just take your breath away! we stayed at 5 hotels on our Bali trip and this is by far my favorite!
Rooms and beds are clean and comfortable!
The private pool villas are a must! We booked our 2 hrs massages/body scrubs the night before and also early the next morning!
The massage therapists are wonderful! The staff is super attentive!
Make sure to bring your mosquito repellents! Don’t forget to get your malaria shots/pills before coming to Bali!
JAPA was the best hotel that I've ever experienced.
The location was perfect to enjoy excellent cafes, restaurants and yoga barn.
The private pool was wonderful and you can enjoy fabulous public swimming pool even you don't choose private pool villa.
Hotel staffs were very warming and they had perfect skill to make guests happy.
Also, I experienced very skillful massage and that was not expesive at all.
I bet you can't find more wonderful place in Ubud.
Thank JAPA for making my trip excellent.
Everything. From the cleanliness to the hospitality. IT WAS GREATT! We stayed there during the “Silent Day” and we did not get bored or annoyed.
1. The staff was super kind and helpful
2. We got the massage there - which was the best
3. We booked 2 more hotels in Ubud after Purana for a different experience, but none of them were even close to the service and cleanliness in Purana.
4. The location was super central near the market as well as the spas and restaurants.
We stayed at the private pool villa which was amazing and really beautiful. The service was however unparalleled in every way. We had the option to have a floating breakfast everyday without additional charge. The minibar was complimentary and was restocked everyday. When I was feeling a little ill the staff surprised me with a flower bath. The staff was probably the best thing about this hotel as they were there for us 24/7, whatever we needed!
The hotel is located very close to the center of Ubud and basically it’s inside the Monkey forest. Throughout the day the hotel is home also to the monkeys that come and go as they please and they are a very happy sight. The Villa is very big and nice with a wonderful private pool. The Villa might need a furniture revamp but it’s fine, it has everything you need and more! The restaurant is very good and they have a great variation of choices.

The location of the hotel is super. Just a few minutes to Ubud center on foot but in a side road, very quiet. There’re many nice restaurants, cafés, yoga studios and spa. The restaurant of the hotel have delicious food and the price is reasonable. All of the staffs are very friendly and speak English very well. They tried their best to support us to plan and organize our day tour.
Kaja Villa is like a magical place completely in the nature. The whole day you are just surrounded by nature sounds. The private pool was really deep and big enough to swim.
Yoga fulfills you every wish, always just 1 message away. For me this was the best Hotel in whole Bali because everything was on point. Thanks for everything!
I like the general location of this hotel, in a nice quiet village. It’s a fair hike down to Ubud, but you can take the path through the rice fields that starts across from The Pengkolan Warung (the path and the warung are both lovely). The room was kind of run-down but it was clean.
Great service by the hotel. Helped us get a tour around Ubud area and even tickets to Nusa Penida, although at a little overpriced rates.
The staff was very cooperative and helpful.
The room with the private villa was amazing and the whole resort had a calming vibe to it.
The setting is unreal. Soooo beautiful so serene. Cute houses, rice fields and jungle around. Roof is nice and authentically stylish.
I mean it’s not luxurious but for the price it’s one of the best deals in Ubud and much better than other hotels of that price category
Stunning private villas with private pool, very friendly staff to help you with whatever you need. A little tucked away from the town but still easy enough to get there, shuttle to and from
the hotel or they can arrange a taxi if you don’t have a scooter.
The rooms are big and clean with large balconies. The pool is amazing, food was delicious and the staff are delightful. The hotel is in the quieter part of Ubud (which is the best area) yet it is all short walking distance to bars and other restaurants.
Everything! From the staff to the facilities everything was just perfect! For people who are afraid of insects I highly recommend staying here… the cleaning is amazing and the staff is always ready to help you;) one of the best hotels in Bali for sure!
The whole experience was wonderful, the staff were amazing , 5 star treatment throughout our stay. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The restaurant had a great selection to choose from, pool was also fabulous overall 10 out of 10
This hotel was AMAZING. Don't have any doubts about booking here. The food, the view, the private pool, the morning yoga - everything was excellent. The spa was the best I've ever been to. Can't recommend this hotel enough.
Everything was excellent. From the little details till the wonderful staff this is one of the best boutique hotels I have ever been. The breakfast and the afternoon tea were amazing. Our pool villa was incredible!
