would like to thank Yocairy Nunez, the hotel manager. She made the entire experience feel like a real vacation. She was very responsive via email and WhatsApp, answering every question I had even before my arrival. Yocairy ensured that every member of my family and friends had a wonderful stay and always asked how we were doing.
I also want to mention that the rooms were very clean. The sheets smelled like clean laundry, and I was quite impressed by how tidy the rooms were. The best part of the resort was the beach.
I also want to give a shout-out to the Paradise Island Catamaran captains. I believe one of the guys' name was Jersen. Both the captain and his assistant (Jersen) were wonderful and very attentive during the Cayo Arena excursion. Special thanks to Yocairy again for helping us set that up.

The property was rustic and well matched the vibe and feel of Punta Rucia. Our room overlooked the water (stunning view), with unique outside bath and shower attached to our room. We found it perfect and could not imagine a better choice for the casual traveler. Breakfast was included in the room date and served on the beach. What a way to start our day. We opted to also eat dinner there and it was fantastic. The cook put out an array of delicious meals. I’ll save my best and final comments for the Lodge Manager (Janine). Personable, warm, charming, welcoming and absolutely tireless. She made our stay both memorable and enjoyable. What an asset!

Having visited both Ensenada and Punta Rucia beaches regularily over the last 25 Years Punta Rucia is by far the best ... Ensenada has gone down in all aspects. We loved our experiance at Punta Rucia Lodge resort, the service, prices, staff's attention and overall service in all departments was excellent, the beach front well kept, clean and serviced by security ( available if needed) wonderful place to visit!!

It is definitely a hidden gem!
It is definitely a hidden gem! One must stay there for 2-3 nights rather than doing the Cayo Arena tour and leaving. There are many activities that you can do but the best actually is not doing anything and just enjoying the quietness of the beach and ocean. For some people, it might feel unsafe as the area is quite poor and the town itself has more local tourists but in reality, there is nothing to be afraid of. People are super nice and I even met solo traveling girls staying at the local B&Bs. Order pizza from Lino Pizza, and you will thank me! Also if you go to Cayo Arena look for Rikeury, 15y old boy who can show you the reef, he is the best!

It looks like a beautiful resort.
It looks like a beautiful resort. However, I'd suggest doing the day pass if you're close by. We had no hot water and there were mosquitoes EVERYWHERE in our lodge. Also, we didn't have wifi in our lodge, which they did end up giving us a booster.
The beach was beautiful and tranquil. I truly enjoyed the seclusion and peaceful atmosphere.
The food was okay. They had some small local spots outside of the resort, but it was definitely easier to eat on the resort.

There is nothing to do or see
There is nothing to do or see
It's quite hard to find fruits or vegetables in this area
It's a really small village - one night is enough!
Cayo Arena is the place everybody goes to, so by daytime there are hundreds of tourist being on a small island to snorkle there - it feels like mass processing!

The place is breath-taking.
The place is breath-taking. The beach is beautiful and clean. The place is far from the touristic area, it s quiet and relaxing. The breakfast is good. The service at the restaurant and bar is very good. The restaurant is a bit expensive but the food is good (mix of french/italian/dominican food.
Overall we were quit disappointed with our experience:
- there is a huge lack of information; we would have liked a booklet in the room referencing the prices and duration of the spa treatments, the excursions, the restaurant working hours etc...
- we realise after 4 days that the beach chairs have mattresses (100 times more confortable), they only put them on the w.e. Same for the beach towels, one day they are available, one day we have to take the swimming pool one. Same for shampoo and shower gel (I had to ask twice)
-the room cleaning could be improved, the mirror and the area around the sink were not cleaned daily.
- we were on honeymoon, the manager said he will send us flowers, we never got them...
- the front desk lady doesn't speak english
Overall we think that the value for money is not really positive for this hotel. Amazing place but average service.

Punta Rucia is a remote location on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, it is heaven! untouched by big chain hotels and truly hope it remains that way!!!! Cannot wait to go back to its sandy beaches!
Amazing service from start at reception, the bar, restaurant and waiting staff especially Jhon, Fernando and MIchell! Having travelled widely in Dominican Republic this hotel was one of the best I have visited both for attention to clients and service 1st class! Food was excellent, restaurant prices very good, the General Manager was onsite and very approachable. Bar and Restaurant prices were higher than outside the hotel but quality of food and cleanliness of the kitchen was excellent and far better than outside venues.
Janine was an extremely nice host! The room was spacious and very cute - we loved the canopy beds with the mosquito nets. The bathroom was also very nice. The best thing about the house was it's location, just on the other side of the road from the beach and just next to plenty of restaurants and bars (Punta Rucia style of course, nothing too fancy).
The breakfasts at the beach were very good.
When we visited it was amazingly quiet and relaxing to wake up by the ocean and watch the waves. The water is so blue, one cannot take their eyes off it. The hotel staff is extra friendly and kind, and we appreciated it a lot. The room had everything we needed and the hammock was the best! Also enjoyed playing basketball in the garden and the Cayo Arena tour they organized for us, a lot!
The owner (Rene) is really nice! He helped us organize the tour to Cayo Arena and he cooked a delicious dinner for us! The hotel is in a good location, halfway between Playa Punta Rucia and Playa Ensenada. The room was spacious and well equipped (air conditioning, shelves and clothing racks). We were at the top floor and had access to a large terrace with a good view.
The service of the staff working there and the availability to answer questions of interest to tourists is very good. If they improve some cleaning details, I think it is a very good hotel for people/families who want to visit the Ensenada and Punta Rucia, which are relatively close. The Ensenada Beach is nice and seemed calm during our stay.
I love how peaceful this place is. I stayed here with my partner and mother in law and we had the absolute best time. The beach is amazing. The staff is friendly and extremely pleasant. The AC works wonderful. I recommend eating at this hotel vs the beach. I’ll definitely be coming back
This is a perfect place to disconnect from everything in the outside world. If you need a break from the everyday stress from work, this is a great scape. The beach is incredibly calm, it’s the original Caribbean beach you would see in a postcard.
The host is incredable. He tries to give you the best experience based on your personal needs. The location is perfect, in the quiet place that Punta Rucia is. The accomodation is comfortable, clean and functional.
Thank you Roberto & team!
Located a few hundred meters away from the main road, it's a perfectly new and very quiet hotel (or small rooms) just a few minutes away from Punta Rucia.
Super friendly staff and 3 good breakfast options (local/international/etc.)
The room was super clean. Loved the outside bathrooms.. beach is right across. Towels and sheets smelled good. There is a TV either cable .. pica pollos right across the street and street foods. Property owner were very sweet
Great location. Beach area was private and clean. Very spacious with nice bar. The bell boy from the first night and staff of the Cayo Arena cruise were exceptional and went above and beyond.
Beautiful setting and great hotel room; very helpful staff who helped us with our tours and travel requirements for COVID measures; very delicious cocktails and food in the restaurant
The customer service of the owner, the closeness to the beach, the pool, breakfast in the morning by the beach, the kayaking, it was beautiful and for the price you can't beat it👍
